Some basic info on the new GP6 bike, Ducati have just updated their press area

I'll be adding some sweet pictures to the gallery in a mo!

Engine: liquid-cooled, 90 degree V4 four-stroke, desmodromic DOHC, four valves per cylinder.

Capacity: 989cc

Maximum power: 169kW/235+ HP @ 16500rpm

Maximum torque: approx. 100Nm/10.2kgm @ 14000rpm

Maximum speed: in excess of 330 kph/205 mph

Transmission: Six-speed cassette-type gearbox, with alternative gear ratios available. Dry multiplate slipper clutch. Chain final drive.

Carburation: Indirect Magneti Marelli electronic injection, four throttle bodies with injectors above butterfly valves. Throttles operated by TCF (Throttle Control & Feedback) system.

Fuel: Shell Racing V-Power

Lubricant: Shell Advance Ultra 4

Ignition: Magneti Marelli

Exhaust: Termignoni

Frame: Tubular steel trellis-style chassis, pressed aluminium swing-arm.

Suspension:
Öhlins upside-down 42mm front forks and Öhlins rear shock absorber, adjustable for preload, compression and rebound damping.

Tyres: Bridgestone 16.5" front and rear

Brakes:
Brembo, two 320mm carbon front discs with four-piston callipers. Single stainless steel rear disc with two-piston caliper.

Dry weight: 148kg

For a minute there I thought Gibbers was Schumacher in one of those shots. LOL

Intresting stuff. Not making much torque is it? You'd think it was a two stroke looking at those figures. I was under the impression its was more powerful and faster than that. What happened to the GP5's 350+? No wonder 250 riders are preferred rookies over SBK riders.

I still think it's gonna do well. That stuff I mentioned is only on paper you know?

Nice pics too. But what is it with Ducati and heading up the Alps for winter? Are they nomads or somthing?
 
1st: Ducati (or any other) is NOT going to tell you how much HP they've got exactly.

2nd: This year's top power may have been reduced due to the limit on fuel tank capacity.

3rd: Top speeds of 350 were achieved thanks to the strong tail wind in Montmeló.
 
20kmph from a tailwind? It ain't an aeroplane. Shanghai they were 340 in the wet.
