You'll love it! I'm so jealous I was hoping to go this year, but things aren't looking good at the moment.

First: Thursday is 'The day of Champions' you will need a ticket for this but they usually sell out pretty quick.

Second: Facilities, ok there are a few loo blocks dotted around, can't remember seeing any showers thou'

Third: When we packed up to go we spent about 4 or 5 hours stuck in a traffic jam! My advice hang back wait until the crowds have gone, I don't think this costs any more.

Have a great time!

I'm 99% certain they will let you stay until Monday morning. They certainly have done for music events at Donington, but if in doubt phone'em up & ask

I'm 100% certain you can stay sunday night; we did last year. Showers are variable, the first night I got a cold one, the next night a hot one and the last night (sunday) it was perfect. I'm flying into east midlands airport on friday, why don't you park there and get a taxi from the rank outside then phone them monday to pick you up? Only cost £8 each way last year.
See the other thread to arrange meeting up on friday(or is it saturday).

Thanks for the info guy's. got tickets today they confirmed what you say.
Going up for thurs eve thru to monday morn.

Hope to meet some fellow fans enjoy yourselves.

Can't wait now.

Yep day of champions is great

Cheers guy's roll on thursday. Just checking if there are any activites or entertainment during the evening in the bar and food village area near the campsites.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks Russ.

theres a funfair type thingy in the entertainment area, big screen doing the tele, the normal extortionate food outlets.
i'm working there friday/saturday nights on campsite fire cover.
i'll be flirting round on the quad, don't forget to say hi.
cheers, see ya'all there.

jay.

I have a question. Haven't been to donington before, going this year by rail.
Anyone know if there are shuttle buses from the nearest train stations such as loughborough and derby? how do people get from the stations to the track and how far away is it?

thanks for any help!

If you're going, have fun!

One really good piece of information.......if you're planning a decent meal out one evening, and you like Italian food, there is a superb family run restaurant in the town. I found it last year, and almost wish I was going this year just for that!!!!!!

My getting to and from Donny is turning into a flippin' operation!
I'm taking trains, taxis, busses, shuttles, everything. I still don't know how I'm getting on Saturday or Sunday.

Bummer mate.

IsraeliRacer.....you deffo need to get one of these then for the train or the bus

Hi guy's roll on tomorrow going up to donny thurs eve. Can anyone confirm if you can unload the car at the campsite then go to the car park or do you have to take loads of gear on the shuttle service which would mean back and forth a few times as paperwork instructions contradict themselves.. And also do they allow a small pair of scissors or safety model knife or are they banned just in case i needed them for opening packets etc you know what camping can be like you bet you would need some, as the paperwork talks about offensive weapons etc. Maybe being over cautious but I work at an airport so have security checks all the time. and don't want to be turned away for something stupid.

many thanks.

Everytime I've been, we have always had to park the car and carry the .... over to the campsite.....which is a pain in the ....

Not sure on the security stuff........they dont check everything, so I'd say you would be fine. They are more interested that people dont take fireworks in.

I do know the campsite is FULLY booked...................so thats 40k campers (or so)!!
