Does Stoner need to change his pre race preparations?

OK guys..let's get serious

In (almost) every race Stoner goes out as hard as he can from the first free practice. Once he has sufficient speed and a big gap between him and the rest he just sits in the pits and watches the others. He seems to enjoy dominating and psychologically hurting the rest of the paddock. Then think what of the my pre-race thoughts..
Rossi, Pedrosa and Lorenzo ( and the others) all have a seemingly much more systematic approach to the race. Starting from slow, then gradually faster (with more laps). Slowly (steady) but sure. IMO, focusing on analyzing the different parameters with a view to building up to the best all round set up would be better.
So why not do as many laps as the rest ? Surely the results that Stoner has had this season has taught Stoner that he can never have an advantage that is too big! Laps can never be a bad thing although I wonder whether Ducati's engines have to be pulled down with much shorter intervals than the rest?

Even if that's all wrong (I'm not saying its right-just speculation) I think he is going to HAVE to change something.

In a word, yes. As you point out whatever he is doing has not worked for the last 3 races, and I said before this race that his practice and qualifying performances now may be actually benefiting rossi by letting him and gb know what they have to target. Valentino has certainly adjusted his approach quite considerably in the last 18 months, and casey needs to now do the same.

The announcer from sunday even said he didn't think there was pressure involved. He said it must of been the hand hurting alot since the bike isn't as easy as people think it is to ride. It hits and undulates quite a bit and one must wrestle the thing into submission. He also stated that Casey was pulling away from Vale and was going very well.

Apropos of the argument above and I apologize for butting in.

I believe in another thread both MichaelM and I said that Casey only ran short stints (maximum 4 laps) in the various FP and QP sessions. Lorenzo, who did well in the race ran a 14 lap session (race simulation)and looked comfortable.

Casey looked decidedly uncomfortable and wasn’t staying on the bike long.

I think there has been much ado about nothing here and the crash is not as psychological as physiological. I take this as the worst case scenario, as psychological stuff is (IMO) overrated and Casey is still faster. The wrist is going to take more work to get around.

I note that when Dani and Jorge were carrying injures they weren’t running in first place for any part of any race, or any other injured rider this year (hopper, Nicki et al). Give Casey some credit.

As a lowly enduro and motocross guy I support Pink’s point. I finished an enduro with three broken ribs. Dumbest stupid ....... pointless thing that was too. Casey had a decent crack at it. Well done to him, still Valentino's greatest adversary (ever).

She has changed the concept of her visit to the forum and returned to the 2006 concept. In the past, she only came when Stoner was winning. Since Stoner isn't winning, now she comes when Stoner either is winning (2007 approach) or falling (2006 approach).
