I agree, it is dangerous, but if the riders are ok with doing it then chances are nothing will happen. Maybe it could be redused to a non championship round like the IOM TT. So far i havn't seen that we get footage of the actual superbike race, but the 200 is televised in the u.k and i will watch it.

I think Daytona has to stay on the schedule for a few reasons. The first is that I live about 1 hour drive, or 30 minute ride if I am on my bike and I love the races there. The banking at Daytona is dangerous and very fast which is the primary reason the changed it to a formula extreme race (heavily modified 600cc bikes). Dangerous? Yes, but we are not talking about accountants after all. We are talking about professional motorbike racers, and I think a little danger comes with the job. Daytona's Bikeweek is about more than just a race on the schedule. It is the most important week for some and the race is a big part of it. Last but not least I get to talk with a lot of the racers and crew before the race, and I also get very good tickets that allow me to loiter about the pit area as well. For me it is the only reason to visit a town I could otherwise do without.

Well i just watched the 200, and was very very impressed with the effort from Britains Chaz Davies, i hope he can move his level up throughout the season.

I noticed that the formula extreme bikes on the podium were using Pirelli tires, is this a controil tire rule or do other companies still supply major teams? Also is Pirelli supplying any teams in the supersport or superbike classes?

The American Honda bikes were on Dunlops. Emgo Suzuki uses Pirellis in Superstock. I think the Ferracci MVs are on Pirellis as well (SBK).

Poor Scassa. When the cameras were on him before the crash I predicted that he was going to. He really seemed to have his hands full. Did anyone at the track think so?
