<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (J708 @ Sep 2 2009, 03:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Man, did I open a can of .....
The issue is how you posed the thread, of course there was going to be backlash, its a knee-jerk reaction to such a poorly premised thread you started buddy boy.
The problem is that those coming to Pedrosa's defense have ERRONEOUSLY defended his riding ability, which has NEVER been the issue. The issue is his CHARACTER, and this is much harder to defend. Notice how the defenses have surrounded his riding ability, which naturally is easy to defend, no .... he’s good. Now have those same people defended the man’s day in day out blame he placed on everything around him: his teammate, his bike, lashed out at the series, at the tire manufactures, not to mention his outrageous behavior when he caused a serious injury laden crash (on his teammate no less) did he look back to see if that man was still breathing?
We have a plethora of examples of very talent athletes who are complete dicks, hell even puppy killers, who are admired regardless. But in my book character counts, and for this Pedros has not redeemed himself. Has he got better, perhaps, but not significantly.
Oh, and to that tired ... ........ defense that he can ride better than most of us…well no ..... That is a pointless argument. That’s a bit like saying OJ had a fantastic running came so I can’t comment on his life choices and character? See how stupid that sounds?
