One for the car nuts. No jacking off over who owns what. But what are the top 3/5 cars you have driven, where you drove them and why the experience stuck in your head.

Really interested in a few peoples responses

VW Bug still sticks in my head as a great drive loads of fun since was 1st car I owned while still in High School....

Then probably a single seater racing car with 1.6l renault engine...large go kart with loads grib in corners....big grin driving that...

Beyond that....anytime you get a rental car on holiday....drive it a mad man around Italy or Spain..no matter how much power you have push it to its limits.....

Oh...my current car... :)

Love the shift on those old Renaults. I drove one (though I think it was 2.0) in zandvoort once. Amazing.

Yours has the latest n/a 3.2right? I wish I didn't need to go diesel or I sure as .... would have that in my 3 series. Lucky you :p

everyones first car...my dream car since i was a little babe. i think it's funny.

still on the fence on either making it a sleeper or keeping it all OG.

decisions, decisions.

No pics as I didn't get any on the day but

Ford XB Coupe - built for and spmpeted in the Bathurst Group C races when it was called the Hardie Ferodo 1000

Holden Walkinshaw V8 Race Car - Used in the Australian Group C national series

Both the above cars were driven on a private track in NSW

Its funny as hell that VW bugs stand out as some peoples best car memories. It does mine as well. When i was 13, one of my older sisters had a boyfriend who owned a souped up VW bug. When he was over, trying to feel up my sister, i would harass them until he would toss me the keys to get my ... out of the house. Basically how i learned to drive. Probably as much fun in a car that ive ever had, and that was 45 years ago. Now bikes are a different story

Went through similar thoughts when doing up my car.
Was thinking of going all Monoposto on it.
Ended up pretty much stock (replaced the single carb 1300 with a 1600 twin weber and 5 speed box not for speed, but to make it more driveable.)
As long as you don't go all dumped with the rear wheels at stupid camber, just get it into a condition that you can enjoy it

I've never owned a decent car in my life - they've all been .....

Much as I fail to get excited over a mobile phone - they bore me.

(Actually, I have been known to get excited over a mobile phone, but I find the iPad is more practical for that sort of thing).

Modern cars bore me, or rather, fail to excite me.
The only ones that don't are when I've driven pre-production prototypes. And not for the driving experience itself.

Yeah, the z4m is 3.2...and i now have added SuperSprint Sport exhaust, and it is quicker....my old 2000 M5 was great fun too....

but my Bug still has a special place in my heart...

yeah, really my only concern is because there are not many people who have fully original bugs. mine is bone stock - but i can't even roll with it on the highway...which i can't complain too much....but sure as .... makes it difficult to go to any meet-ups or car shows.

my dad talked about maybe throwing a turbo in it, he was laughing his ... off when he suggested it.

we'll see. i still have a piss pad under the thing.........' oil dripper.

and dude - .... camber.

Could you tow/trailer it to shows? Seems a shame to 'rat' it if it's original
