Hi from the UK,

This is my first season following MotoGP. I've been an F1 fan for years, but this year's MotoGP races have been more interesting and fun to watch, so I'm looking to get into the sport more.

I've never actually ridden a motorbike, but I can definitely appreciate the skill involved.

I've got my tickets for Silverstone next week, and can't wait.

Welcome!

If your on the campsite there will be a bunch of ........ chilling (quite literally) This is Shiverstone we are talking about after all.

Some from here, some not but all a great bunch.

Your welcome to come hang with us if:

You can take your beer,

And don't mind fragrant smokey smells if you get my drift.

Oh and a night time verse of Ilkley moor bar tat thrown in for good measure at silly oclock in the morning with an oncore of shut the .... up, shut up you daft .......,

and if Pete had been there big giggles from his tent, Ok peals of laughter.

Faint hearted need not apply  ;)

:D sounds good. I'm only there for the Sunday though, so won't be camping sadly. Maybe next year.

It's a good spot. I watched the F1 from there last year. I may well see you there.

Lil Red is a seriously nice guy,  meet up with him if you can. He's a big Mark Marquez fan too ;)

Welcome to the forum 14X, enjoy your time here :) F1 fan too eh? We're going to get along then, me too.

I wouldn't bank on it. You're a Vettel fan. :p

j/k I wouldn't hold that against you, and he does look ever so dashing with his new blonde locks don't you think?

Good to meet you. :)

Yes I am a Vettel fan, but the hair? Oh dear me, the boy clearly got too much sun this Summer if he thinks that was a good idea, either that or he lost a bet ;)

So yes, like Red asked who are you a fan of?

J/k, I think he means 'joking or just kidding', it's trendy younger persons speak that we're not used to.

Ok I've changed my mind. We can definitely be friends. :p  I'm staring down the barrel of my mid-30's, been a while since I was called young OR trendy.

My favourite driver on the grid is Kimi Raikkonen. Which is great as he currently drives for my boys, so it makes my supporting him easier. But no matter where he drives next year, (for my money, I don't think he's going anywhere) I'll still be wearing black and gold to the track.

Incidently I think Sebrina lost a bet. No way anyone would choose to do that to their hair. It would be funny if it now fell out like what happened to Villeneuve. :D

Oh bless you, mid thirties? I have a daughter who will be turning 30 next year, so you're still young to me :p

A Kimi fan eh? You won't have enjoyed Spa then after his long run of points finishes, as soon as I saw the clouds of black dust coming from his brakes it was only a matter of time before he was out sadly.  He is driving well since his comeback.

Be very careful what you say about Jacques Villeneuve, I was a paid up member of his fan club for a lot of years!!  Yes bleaching his hair did it no good, but then he shaved it all off along with DC and Mika Salo for a bet as well. Seb's hair isn't good, the sooner he stops doing that the better, he's also going thin on top I reckon, you can see how he's growing the top longer and pushing it forward more these days. Bless him, why are men so sensitive about their hair? Bald can be a good look on some.

Mine's going thin on top too, but I just generally chuck a hat on it. (In fact one of my biggest decisions for the weekend is which hat to buy at the track) Certainly don't go nuts trying to hide it. Ironically I think it's my persistant hat wearing when I was younger that's made it get this way as my dad, who's much older (shocker I know) has more hair than I do.

I'm actually not that bothered about Kimi's DNF. I'd rather he extended the record, but it always had to end sometime, and it may as well have ended when he wasn't having that great a day anyway. I don't think he'd ever have got better than a 6th even if the brakes had held on. I find it hard to believe a visor tear off can cause that much damage though.

Big Jorge welcomes all Spartans.

Are you aware that Spartans, as part of their rites of passage and training were required to be child ... slaves to a sponsor Spartan, to learn the ways of humiliation and discipline?  This was after they were made to submit to a lashing by their parents, those that cried were beaten  unconscious because crying was shameful, then submitted at the age 7 to begin their childhood tenure of being repeatedly ......  Are you also aware Spartans were not allowed to marry until past their fighting age, over 30, so they were expected to have ... with eachother while in garrison?

Are you aware the Spartans threw deformed children into pits at their birth?

Any deformity was classed as a curse from the gods.

That was actually the "humane" way of practicing infanticide, other times they would leave the "defective" baby out in the elements, to suffer its last dying moments to exposure.

Did they should 'THIS IS SPARTAAAAA' when they did it?

If they didn't, then movies have lied to me.
