Anyone heard anything bout collin. is he staying with yamaha or what. he wanted to know wher he stood after the last race . I have not heard a thing .

R-46
Da first time you try da 500 its like...aaaaahhh fucck" (Rossi in Faster DVD)

nada yet man....last I heard he wanted to know at Sepang....I think the Nicky deal is what is delaying matters....Yamaha had planned on getting Nicky...now they are negotiating with Colin I'd guess....

yeah i think he's safe now that nick stayed at honda. he's basicly just turned into yamaha grid filler. he presents no kind of threat to rossi and he's a good tester. but yamaha need to pull their heads outta their ..... & line up some young talent! rossi's only gonna be around a couple years at the most & then what? i guess they'll have to steal somebody away from honda again!

Last I heard after Nicky signed, Rossi went to Yamaha and said he wanted them to keep Colin. So now I think they are just trying to iron out contracts and such. Colin is trying to press for a multi-year deal and Yamaha dosnt want to commit to anything long term.

Colin does have other offers and if Yamaha will not come to bat for him then he would like to start working towards other goals and opportunities.

That is the last I heard anyway.

they need to come to the states and get Ben Spies.

get a new Texas Tornado on the Grid..

Last I heard he was about 90% sure to stay with Yamaha in MotoGP and he had/has other MotoGP offers on the table as well so it's highly unlikely we will see a Texas Tornado/Baylisstic showdown in WSB in 2007.

I d love to see Ben (spies) in motogp . i d love to see him against Nicky
I always wondered why Mladin never came to motogp. Does any one know?

Mladin - now that would be interesting, but then again no point joining top flight racing with a crp bike - e.g. d'Antin

. Take Neil Hodgson WSB excellent year, MOTOGP - hmmm very bad year, AMA - excellent year 5th not bad.

Mladin did race 500cc very early in his career with reasonable results. However, it was on a B/C team and was sacked for reasons I can't remember. Since then, Mladin has insisted that going anywhere isn't worth it unless it's with a top level/factory team. Rumors suggested that HRC wanted Mladin to ride for Gresini Honda in 2006. And Richo is right, he gets more money in the states than he ever would in MotoGP and his schedule is far less hectic which is important to him being a family man and all.

It's a real shame that, the level of racing AMA is very high, every bit as high as WSB on maybe not top level circuits. I get to see the repeats on TV whenever I can, I can't say I blame Mladin for staying there.

I also thought the Dunlop brothers would do well on 250cc or 500cc, they had the offers but never took it up shame and Steve Hislop, god knows why they gave the ride to Carl Fogpants, Hissy was much quicker.

Robert did intend to race WSB but his big IOM crash stopped that from happening, some would say that Robert was a better superbike rider than Joey who preferred pedigree race bikes, namely 2-stokes, as opposed to the road bike derived superbikes and supersports. I don't know how well either of them would have done at gp level though.
