Just stumbled upon a link where you can get a scale model of your favourite track, in sculpture form or coasters, from around the world (IoM TT/Nordschleife/Assen/Laguna Seca etc etc). The site even has the newest tracks to appear on this years' calendar. The only snag is that you need deep pockets, the sculptures are between $199-$219, and four coasters at $30 or six at $40.

You could make that yourself for about $20 and it would take a maximum of 3 hours

You could make it quite easily but I doubt it would take just 3 hrs.

And for 219 bucks I'd want it to show the gradients too. Imagine having a scale version of Laguna on ya table. With the corkscrew in all its glory not just a flat curve. It should be quite easy to acheive just by cutting identical track layouts and overlaying the ply in the desired areas that needed building up. Sand n varnish, finish with a leather strip glued on to cover the cross cuts and bobs ya uncle.

Would cost about £50-£100 in the uk depending on how much you do yourself.

Thats what i was Thinking when i first read the heading. What there selling is quite lame. The visible layers are nice but noone would ever see those hanging on a wall. You could build it out of mdf and paint the top black in under 3 hours

Yep, easy to make yourself, especially with 3D printing if you send the 'model' direct from a CAD package (which i can do hehehe
