Just got back from my ride this morning and I'm coming back through this twisty bit about two or three miles from where I live when I encounter a pack of choppers/cruisers and trikes. The pack probably consisted of 20 to 25 bikes and they did not split up. Pulling out in front of me was a non-issue for these guys. I was doing 65 in a 50 and the first couple may have been able to beat me out and keep comfortable if they were going to do a quick pace. But the whole pack pulled out, no looking. It didn't matter to them, they were entitled to the road. If the first guy could make it, so could the 25th. Frustrating, I thought, but at least it wasn't a pack of 25 Buicks driven by geriatrics. Motorcyclists, of any sort, should at least be up to keeping somewhat of a quick pace, right? We rode the whole twisty section at 35mph. For persepective, a reasonable pace is around 50, a quick pace would be about 60 to 70. ....... 35mph!!

So at the end of the twists there is a gas station about a mile past the last twisty bit, so I pull off and fill up. As I'm leaving, another pack of 10 to 15 choppers/cruisers/trikes and Boss Hogs ride past as I pull out of the station. They're sitting at a red light just turning green while I pass them all in the right turn lane as I'm turning right. As I do, the Boss Hog proceeds to rev his V8 at me. As I'm making my right turn, middle finger in the air Rossi Suzuka style and screaming obscenities under my helmet. It took every last bit of willpower not to pull a U turn on a two lane and follow them to wherever they were going and seeing how quick that V8 was on a bend. ...... bags.

Sorry for the rant, but I can't ....... stand chopper riders. Arrogant .......s.

Use those 15,000 rmp's and be an a-hole back, or just pull over wait a few mins. Enjoy a few corners till you catch back up to them. That is what we call street surfing.

I hate them as well.

Do like Trav said. Speed up and pass them. Play with them and piss them off. No matter the road, they cannot catch you.

Get in front of them and pull a small wheelie. Or if your at a light and they are behind you (did this with some Harely riders), you light up the rear and blast out of the blocks.

i used to have a Swedish style chop years ago. i like minimal chops because thats what choppers used to be about not like the tv show chops these days.
came across this beaut at laguna. note the rim mounted discs.

I know there are good cruiser/chopper riders. A good friend of mine is a proud Harley owner. For every good chopper rider there is a ........, and for every good sport bike rider there are two squids.
