Pretty much says it all. Don't know if this has already been discussed. If it has someone feel free to merge.

The pilot Genovese will pair with the team Kallio satellite

A week ago was protagionista an ugly incident on the track of Mugello. Tradito by Ducati Desmosedici Niccolò Canepa was found on the floor with a discrete number of fractures cho the force still forced to rest.

Inside this dolorososa convalescence, however, comes an excellent news for the pilot twenties managed by Carlo Pernat. The Ducati has decided to ingaggiarlo as pilot official satellite team for next season, along with Finnish Mika Kallio.

The first team will count on Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden neoacquisto, while a fifth Desmosedici - operated by a Spanish team - could be deployed for Sete Gibernau.

Meanwhile Fausto Gresini announced the reappointment of Alex De Angelis, while it remains to be determined who will be assigned the second Honda customers in the Italian team.

interesting, thank for posting bg

5 Ducatis? Wow... that is alot of bikes to build. Especially as Sete will have to get bikes closer to the factory than the Alice Team. Ducati is the new Honda. The bike you want.

Honestly though it's only one more bike to field than they have for the past few years. It's not like they're going to be supplying half the grid like Honda.

ha! those google translations always crack me up.
Sorry I didn't have time to sort it out for you guys. I had my last exam yesterday and am now just chilling out.....and catching up with a lot of email...

There are only four posts between your OP and mine... Have you lost the plot already?

They just got rid of Melandri and Simoncelli has reportedly declined to ride for them.

Did you really expect Ducati to have a season without an Italian rider? No really, did you?

I think Kallio is gonna kick his .... What kind of RACING experience does Nicolo have???

Anyway I think Ducati made a mistake letting Toni Elías go, there aren't that many riders there able to make the Ducati go fast.

He is a racer who worked as a test rider just to get into MotoGP.That's my guess anyway.
Eventhough i wouldn't mind having Elias in the team too ,Canepa has motivation no doubt.

It has nothing to do with being the best bike it has to do with Stoner and the power of governing body or the militant marketing wing.

As teams dominate in the 4 stroke era they run more and more equipment. This is the last thing you want to do as a manufacturer when you're running up the score. Ducati have more wins in the 800cc era than any other manufacturer. The governing body requires factories to run more bikes as they pull away from the rest of the field. When they suck, they are allowed to contract (i.e. Kawasaki or Suzuki). This is how the governing body maintains a minimum number of bikes, it is how the governing body keeps the winning team from winning in perpetuity.

I think there is also some kind of new rule that says you only get rider subsidies if you put the incoming riders on factory equipment. Tech 3 was upgraded before Toseland's arrival and Kawasaki were reportedly running a third factory bike b/c Aspar was certain he could get Bautista. Kallio is certainly getting subsidies if he is in fact going to land at Alice; Alice are recently on factory equipment with factory support.

I think the obvious exception was Honda last year. I bet there was a compromise for them because they power 40% of the grid and they had a dismal 2007 season. They were probably allowed to keep everyone on last year's bike and still rake in the dough for Dovi, DeAngelis, and probably even DePuniet and Nakano. Next year they are forced to upgrade all of their customer bikes to the pneumatic spec.

Hmmmm..........forced to upgrade customers to the pneumatic engine before it's shown any success on track. I find that to be most interesting. Somebody must already know how well it performs.
