Dorna make more money out of the UK TV deal, but the exposure suffers.

I'm not surprised when people are already paying for a TV Licence, Sky/Virgin Media, probably have broadband, and then you have to mess with your current setup to add BT Sport on top.

I'm glad VM got BT Sport, because I wasn't prepared to downgrade from high speed cable broadband to slower phone broadband just to get BT Sport (no plans for Infinity in our area).

Too right.  I have paid for MotoGP.com for 6-7 years now because I spend part of my time in Oz (where terrestrial TV coverage is often .....) and part in the UK.  Currently I am in the UK and am very happy with my Netgear router and my month-to-month business BB ISP.  To get BT Spurt I'd need to sign up to BT's home (business BB does not get BT Spurt) BB for at least 12 months, doubtless find they throttled me due to my heavy business usage, buy their router/modem and then pay the £12 per month fee.  Or I can stick with the 100Euro /yr cost of MotoGP.com.  As I don't do football, it's a no-brainer for me.

Sadly, the number of fans (or vaguely interested parties) that could tune in for "free" in the UK (bearing in mind the exorbitant BBC license fee costs) last year are not going to spend money on this fringe sport this year.  It's a real shame as the Dorna business model a few years ago had it right IMHO when they insisted on it being available on free-to-air as opposed to pay TV.  Without this how do they recruit new fans, and without fans, how does the sport survive?  Shortsighted moneygrabbing bstards :(
