BSB Drop Donington Park From 2010 Calendar
11 December 2009 - BSB Media

MSVR, the commercial and organisational rights holder of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in association with Pirelli has today issued a revised 2010 calendar.

The major change concerns Donington Park which has not been able to be included in the 2010 calendar. The Donington circuit operating companies entered into administration last month and the track is currently in an unusable condition. Earlier this year several planned race meetings were cancelled and the BSB round was only able to be confirmed as going ahead eight days before the event, which was quite unsatisfactory. Such uncertainty is clearly unacceptable for the teams, series organisers and spectators.

Donington Park had occupied September 10/11/12 on the provisional calendar. Croft is now re-instated to this date, whilst on May 21/22/23 the championship will now visit the popular Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire for the first of two championship rounds.

Other minor changes in the month of July see Knockhill moving to July 2/3/4 and Snetterton to July 16/17/18.

MSVR Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said; “It is very important for the teams, our broadcast and commercial partners and above all the fans that we prepare a calendar consisting of venues where there is no doubt about whether or not the event will actually take place. The prospect of a second event at Cadwell Park in May will I’m sure be great news for the many thousands of fans that already flock to the August Bank Holiday meeting.”

It's such a shame, I know what everyones says about Donny but I've got some good memories from there.

It was in one hell of a state when we went up this year, supposedly getting ready for the F1 circus, they then got dumped by the poison dwarf, Bernie. Now this, I wonder if they will survive. I hope so.

^ Yeah, I love the place too so I hope they get it sorted soon.

I didn't think it looked too bad this year at the GP - other than ripping the bridge down and the new tunnel it hardly looked like they'd touched the place. Looked a proper mess on the news the other night though.

I like donington only because in one year i was able to watch bsb, moto gp and wsb in the space of three months and it felt like a proper day trip out lol. Shame it's not going to be used and that the owners are now in administration. Think they'll be a race track going for a song soon. Hope the new owners - that is if there is one treat it with respect and care it needs to make it in to a world class venue for all types of bikes and cars and not leave it for the hare that seems to occupy the old hairpin or should that be harepin
<

However Cadell twice in a year BRING IT ON!! Anyone camping let me know for May I only live 3/4hr drive away and i love that track! Shame it can't hold a WSB or even Motogp.

That got the biggest cheer of the day on Saturday at the GP as it ran down through Starkeys.

But later on i can't remember for the life of me which race its was or infact if it was earlier that day it nearly and very nearly by a hares whisker got mullered and spread all over the track by a couple of bikes.

Ooooh the memories are coming back now i can almost smell the bikes

Yeah just be mindful of those bends. I knicked a sign last year the day after as a dare. The Bends Dead ahead. Was well funny when i took it off the sign post (already had a sign warning of bends - i wasn't that irresponsable) it was pretty windy and i didn't realise how big they where. I nearly took off down the road with it. Coppers were half a mile down the road as well, good job i didn't get pulled, i mean how was i going to explain that to the coppers with a raod sign and plyers wedged onto the back seat.

The sign is now somewhere in London displayed on a garage.

.... should i say that on here?????? Bloody hell - wasn't me officer i was held at gun point!!!

Just watched the video, completly oblivous to my collegue walking in - got headphones on.
She says "what you doing linda"
i said "concentrating on an email i don't quite understand"
she says "why are you moving side to side like you are on a bike?"
