Pole in the Park for Hill

Tommy Hill smashed the opposition at Cadwell Park this afternoon to set pole position in the Swan Combi Roll for Pole shootout ahead of tomorrow's fourth round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.

Hill had taken the early advantage on the Worx Crescent Suzuki in the final eight minute session, but it was frantic on circuit as Brookes, Rutter, and Michael Laverty also looked to steal the pole position in the final minutes.

Hill powered the Worx Crescent Suzuki to consistently fast laps to annihilate the fastest laps of the weekend so far, but high-flying Brookes was on a charge but it wasn't enough for the HM Plant Honda to take the pole position.

Hill said: "I am happy to be on pole; it is always the goal but to be honest we have struggled a bit this weekend and everyone is so fast I knew it would be tough. We have changed the forks over several times and then went back to basics but now we are up here and that is the main thing. We needed to be here though as it is so close between the top guys that anything less would have made life tough for race one."

Gary Mason crashed out of the second qualifying session at Charlies whilst running in the top three; the MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider was unable to rejoin the track for the final Q3 knockout. He suffered from concussion and therefore will not take part in tomorrow's races.

MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, Cadwell Park, Swan Roll for Pole result:

1. Tommy Hill (Worx Crescent Suzuki) 1:27.744

2. Josh Brookes (HM Plant Honda) +0.355s

3. Michael Rutter (Ridersmotorcycles.com Ducati) +0.481s

4. Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) +0.524s

5. Michael Laverty (Relentless Suzuki by TAS) +0.716s

6. Tommy Bridewell (Quay Garage Honda) +0.736s

7. Stuart Easton (Swan Honda) +0.758s

8. Chris Walker (MSS Colchester Kawasaki) +1.183s

9. John Laverty (Buildbase Kawasaki) +1.239s

Superstock 1000

3 riders down at the chicane

looked like 1st rider he went down causing 2nd rider to go down and his bike hit the 1st rider then 3rd rider went over the 1st rider then he went down

marshall's / Medic car on track asap surprised it wasn't stopped asap as other riders coming into the chicane were blind until they entered the chicane and saw a car was on track

Some nice pics there. The paddock ones are great.

Don't think I saw much of that one. All I remember is we was down near Mansfield for that one, and I thought I was gonna die in that heat.

Great pics,I really thought Karl Harris was a goner at that speed, the lad has 90000 lives,James Lodge and the lad he ran into should thank their lucky stars too.Another absolute cracking pic of Josh Brookes, you`ve spoilt us matey.

great stuff ppl.

Can't knock brooksy and a rookie at that he's got the Mountain sorted to his advantage

Hard to believe it's his 1st time there. Lets see if he can beat Rea's one-hander next time he's there.

Harris opposite me i thought wtf how on earth did he get there

I missed the crash but saw him walking away and I thought the exact same thing. I don't remember anyone ever making it to the top of the hill before.
