He really should not race, it will be a sad day if he's taken out by another rider because he can't compete up front. I cant believe his contracts would be in jepordy for missing a few races were talking about Rossi not some rookie here. That's gotta be a joke.

I Dont think he will race it could all be a troll by dorna etc just to keep ppl interested.he might be at sachsenring PR

if he does race IT will be a surprise and stupid Fail

Valentino Rossi's father Graziano said his son's comeback test at Misano went well - but hopes the world champion will not feel obliged to aim for victory from the outset if he returns for the Sachsenring.

He also revealed that he had suggested Rossi retire from MotoGP after the injury.

The younger Rossi completed 26 laps on a Yamaha Superbike at Misano last night, his first time on a motorcycle since breaking his right leg in a practice crash at Mugello in early June.

The aim of the test was to see if Rossi would be fit enough to make an early comeback at the German Grand Prix in just over a week's time. Although he was still in pain in both his ankle and the shoulder he injured in a Motocross accident in April, he remained optimistic that he could be ready to race in Germany.

Graziano Rossi felt the test was successful, but said if Valentino did come back for Germany rather than his initial suggestion of the Brno race in August, he ought to use his first two races back to gently reacclimatise before the Czech GP, which he has won five times in MotoGP.

"For what he has gone through, things went fine," Graziano Rossi told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Perhaps his shoulder problem could be the most annoying. I think he has been quick and he wants to get back. I hope he feels ready for the Sachsenring.

"I believe that the German race and the one in Laguna Seca could be useful to get re-accustomed to riding and to find the pace again. Valentino must not forget what has happened to him and must not believe he can come back as if nothing had happened.

"But with two races to acclimatise, he can arrive at Brno - a track where he has a 'moral duty' - to fight at the front. At Brno he can't race without aiming for the podium."

But Rossi's father admitted his preference was for his son to wait longer before racing again - and that he had even urged him to consider quitting MotoGP altogether.

"Frankly I've tried to tell him that perhaps it would be better to delay his return, maybe even until next season or even better to never come back," said Graziano.

"He looked at me and he simply told me that it's not possible to leave bikes in this way."

I don't see why so many are speaking so passionately about this return being a mistake, we don't know Rossi's actual physical condition.

The single most important point is, will he be safe? If he can control the bike to such a level that he isn't going to endanger other competitors then he should come back. He'll do more good for the team than his replacement does in terms of TV time, feedback and team points. The very fact that he's back will be good for the sport because its a good story and it'll have the fans buzzing, plus he probably wants to be at the track to negotiate for next year and keep an eye on things generally. I say get Rossi back as soon as he is safe enough to race alongside the others, i think we can trust him to look after himself.

I agree..i'd rather see him wait til he is fully fit even if that means taking the rest of the season off.

If you watch both video's together, you will see he has been consistent, (of cource a few seconds down to his real performance)

He arrives at the same time in the same corners in both vid's.

I think he better not to race at all untill Brno, or that he has to start from the pit lane, and threat it as a practice.

Just worried dad talk, us fathers can all understand that

To be honest i had forgoten all about the shoulder injury.
<

I am surprised that shoulder injury is still giving him problem now, considering that his results of 3rd and 2nd in Jerez and Le mans respectively look even more respectable now.

or maybe he has harmed it again when he crashed in Mugello. imo maybe that shoulder had a bit to do with his crash in Mugello too.

I think Rossi is crazy to risk it. He doesn't have to prove anything or put anything on the line.

The only thing that remotely makes sense is that he wants to rub it in to Yamaha that even while hurt he is better than Jorge.

I believe he should wait and come back when the risk of a fall is not more detrimental to his overall career. If he suffers a crash.....

Remember Alex DeAngelis is back in the grid...Rossi could mangle his leg beyond repair.

Sit it out Goat and heal so that you are at optimum health next year.

..............................................................

On a side note. I wonder if he really enjoyed the WSB R1 compared to the GP bikes. Meaning..skip the world Rally/F1 and go toWSBK once he retires from Motogp.

I think Yamaha were probably paying enough attention to notice that even while well he wasn't better than Jorge, but if he's that confident he could give it a shot.

Pay bit more attention to the season you ...., Rossi was carrying shoulder injury in round 2 and 3 and still struggling with the same injury.
