This just in from Camel:

Over the last three years, Camel together with Honda and the Honda Pons Team have achieved many successes in the premier class of the World Road Racing Championship. However, recent differences of opinion with the Japanese manufacturer concerning the choice of riders has meant that the 2006 project, in which Max Biaggi was planned to ride for the Camel team, has not been able to take off.

Japan Tobacco International, proprietor of the Camel brand, considers the veto against the rider as unjustified from many points of view, and has thus decided to break off relationships in MotoGP with Honda and with the Pons team.

Since the last world championship race, a number of opportunities with other manufacturers were examined and negotiations started to make the project with Max Biaggi a reality. Although carried out with great determination, none of these came to fruition and it has become apparent that this objective simply cannot be achieved.

In order to ensure continuity of the strategy for the Camel brand, JT International is thus considering a series of alternatives.

"We put considerable energy and great determination into the MotoGP project with Max, even when it became quite clear that this could not be done with Honda," commented Mr. Roberto Zanni, President of Japan Tobacco International Europe, "but in the end it proved impossible. The obstacles we found ourselves up against were various, decisive and, in a sense, inexplicable. It seems that the sporting spirit, which has always been part of motorcycle racing and which has given the public its great passion for this sport, had suddenly disappeared. It is this passion for sport which, on the contrary, remains a driving force for our Group, the philosophy on which we have based all our activities in the world of motorsport.

"I should like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed to our success in our first three years in the MotoGP," continued Mr. Roberto Zanni, "my thanks go to Honda and to Sito Pons, the owner of the team flying the Camel colours. I thank all our riders and, in particular, Max Biaggi, whom I would have liked to see back on the track with us. Our successes and the excitement we have shared have been, and still are an enormous incitement for our Group. They are landmarks in the history of Camel's involvement in the world of racing and, precisely for this reason, they must continue."

ENDS

Does this mean the end of Biagg in MotoGP?? Will Camel sponsor another team? It looks like they will not go back to Pons so what will he do? Where will Camel go?

This answers some questions but very vaguely. I hope to find an announcement from Biaggi soon.

Sounds to me that Camel is out of MotoGP for 2006 but may make a return in 2007. As far as Biaggi... it doesn't look good.

I just can't figure what the attraction of Biaggi is. Must be a culture thing or something. Really he should know when to retire especially after this season, he had top gear and did nothing.

He must be GAY.

I'll tell you the attraction to Biaggi:
-Camel make cigarettes
-People who want to die want cigarettes (No offense smokers)
-Camel sell cigarettes to thousands of these people
-Camel make lots of money
-Cigarette companies who want to lose lots of money look for worn out vicitms of the Valentino Rossi's dominance
-Camel meets Biaggi
-They get it on
-Now Biaggi has more-money-than-sense Camel executives wrapped around his little finger
-Poor teams who don't want to end up in the Kenyan national 50cc post classic motorcross championships need money
-Biaggi has camel
-Therefore Biaggi has money
-Therefore poor teams want Biaggi

And that's the whole story, kids. but now maybe Camel is getting cold feet. There could be a heartbreaking divorce coming up. What will the neighbours think?

MCN today,Pons looks like he`s lost the Camel money, they are still trying to get Max a ride in MGP.Pons has now to find a sponsor to run Checa.LCR have aqcuired an RCV to run Stoner on.Pedrosa is still struggling with body strength on the Honda but it should be sorted by a training schedule which should see him put about 10 kg of muscle on for 06.

10 kg in 4 months???

Jeez he will need to get a nice dose of clembuterol to achieve that. I don´t think he´ll put more than 3 or 4 kilos before April.

Hey Drill remember that one from school

Its not the angle of the dangle or the heat of the meat its the throb of the knob that does the job.

Biaggi, on an Aprilia Cube for 2006?

http://www.dailymotos.com/detalle.asp?id=5...GP+a+Max+Biaggi

which means....

after Camel announcing it will pull out of motogp for next season this past tuesday, looks like a door of hope has oppened for the roman pilot after recieving an offer from Aprilia for him to compete in Motogp with the aprilia rs cube. Giampiero Sacchi was making these statements to La Gazzetta dello Sport: "we already have the bike. with addecuate finnancing and a great rider like max, we could be on the track in a dignified manner". Upon accepting the offer, Biaggi would go back to his roots and success with the Noale brand in 1992 in the 125 cc category and the 94-96 quarter liter category. Evidently, the RS Cube is not a competitive motorcycle to win the Motogp 06 title but for Biaggi it could suppossedly mean the possibility of competing one more season in the worlds queen category.

lol poor ....... will be competing with the WCM bikes on that thing...

Aprillia said they werent going to go back to motoGP for a while for cost reasons.
I'll belive it when there's a blue and yellow cube on the grid next year.
