Whats going on with this machine?

Its full factory or not? Maybe semi factory and from 2014 full factory?

Nissin , brembo , ohlins ????

yes ohlins, nissin in the rear & the last two races (Germany & Laguna) he has brembo in the front...  other than the nissin rear we haven't been told anything that would make it less than the Repsol bikes.

Nissin is Honda, so I guess it is tied up somewhere in the deal that you need to use/test what ever you are given for at least some of the rounds. I bet those Nissin brakes are an exact replica of the Brembo brakes. HRC probably just swap the stickers and then laugh at how the rider thinks one version is better than the other.

Why nissin if its full factory ?

Kropotkin ?

Yep, as Sloth stated, Honda is using MotoGP to develop their brakes so the satelite boys are were tasked with that...  HRC & Ohlins have been trying to get to the bottom of Bradl's front end issues so that is why they switched to Brembo for the last two grand prix.  The rumors are that the nissins were too rough on initial pressure for Bradl.

It's the fugly gold wheels ....... it up.

Looks like a clubbie bike from 1994.

As far as I know, Krop thinks it's virtually full factory spec, indicated by the number of HRC mechanics in Bradls garage (correct me if I'm wrong Krops, just trying to take a bit of the load off so you can sit your fat ... in the garden drinking Schultenbräu and listening to André Hazes).

I'm more sceptical about how good Bradls bike is. HRC has been supplying "factory spec" sattelite bikes for a few years now (I think Nakano was first on the Gresini). Always seemed like some factory spec bikes are more factory spec than others.

+1

i think honda use the term "factory" rather freely compared to yamaha. didn't spies get what was de facto a factory bike in his debut year?

seems like if you ride a honda it better be declared as factory as often as possible whereas with yamaha they always supply a good bike.used to be worse a couple of years ago though i guess

Cecchinello confirmed that his Honda is full factory (he said it on Italia1 TV during the last GP). That's why Honda basically also decides who rides it. Of course the throttle of the updates is always firmly on HRC's hands who send their own mechanics to work on the bike (same as Yamaha does for Crutchlow btw).

You have to pay to have Brembo and Ohlins,  Showa and Nissin pay the teams to develop their products, its just financial.

Doesnt Honda own Showa and Nissin?

I'm inclined to agree with Kroptokin's observation regarding the number of HRC mechanics as being the best indicator of the factory pedigree of young Stef's machinery.  However, the bike itself is only part of the equation and it's the factory support (i.e. supplied man-power) that also plays a big part - not forgetting Bradl's obvious talent as a rider.

Agreed. The Factory Support (ie. personnel) are likely to be far more important than the parts on the bike.

In three races it went from a ho hum midpack performer to a podium contender.

If I were Bradl and those techs didn't show up in my garage at Indy then I would

invite them over for refreshments and fun. Before they could leave I would ask

them to tinker with my bike. Very nicely would I ask.

Nothing like the threat of the sack to pick you're game up, Alvaro didn't get any new parts be he went as quick.

Absolutely......and did you notice he was afraid to challenge Rossi for the podium.

No way was he taking out another rider - shame too cause I am partial to aggressive riders.
