in.. m.c.n....BMW reveals S1000RR in race colours

For the first time BMW has revealed its S1000RR superbike in race trim and race paint scheme at the Cologne Motorcycle Show.

BMW claims the 1000cc inline-four engine will kick out a true 190bhp and weigh less than 190kg when it goes on sale late in 2009. If BMW is to be believed then that means it will weigh 10kg less than its Japanese competitors and produce 10bhp more power!

BMW has confirmed the bike will have ABS and traction control when it goes on sale.

Ruben Xaus and WSB-veteran Troy Corser will be racing the BMW S1000RR in WSB for 2009.

is that a BMW?

<

ambivalent feelings towards that bike..i think it looks ok, but its a BMW...

you know, designed for older men who want comfort to go touring on sundays....surely?

Why in the hell dose BMW always .... up by putting ABS on its bikes. EVERY tester states how bad BMW's servo controlled abs brakes suck.

I'll bet the bike weighs ten more pounds, and has ten less hp.

Bike looks sweet though.

Its a sweet looking bike, but they could have been more creative with the paint. They should have just asked my 4yr old niece

Not nice, very unimaginative bunch at BMW

The Carbon black is really nice, but I think it gets very boring looking after a while

The bike looks pretty trick i think, though im not sure i beleive those figures they gave us
10kg lighter and 10hp more, i dont think they will be beating the Japs or Italians next year..

looks good, but almost reminds me of the honda interceptor from the early - mid 80's
