Who are the best riders to watch on the bike. Not the most exciting, and not nescessarily the most aggressive.

Who are the really interesting guys to watch? (and please, can we not turn this into a Rossi debate)

In no particular order:

Makoto Tamada- ridicluous lean angles.
Troy Bayliss- Buckin' bronco.
Nicky Hayden- Backin it into corners speedway style.
(WSB) Troy Corser- i know hes not in MGP but, check out those lines hes on! and, how smooth?
Ruben Xaus- hes so big and aggressive! such a big weight on the bike.

And of course, Rossi- Smooth AND aggressive, genius at work.

Any more?

tamada with his angles is a good shout, scares me 2 death at times

Tamada should stick elbow scrappers on!....sparkies at that

Me being the American I am I love the guys who can back it in, like Nicky Hayden. I don't think there is anything more exciting that watching riders slide under breaking and bring it back in line. Good stuff.

That is awesome to watch! any body remember afew years ago when McCoy started using the 16.5" rear at South Africa and had it sliding all over the place baking it in and sliding through the corner, it was like WRC on 2 wheels!

That is soooo entertaing to watch

Absolutely, to be honest I really can't think of a more enjoyable or exciting rider to watch... when he is on a competitive machine. Even when he's on a slow bike he's fun but I enjoy watching him slide the thing battling for the lead.

Ben Bostrom- Wild Californian. Never before have i seen a bike wobble at both ends.

OMG another Haga fan! please tell its true!!!!
I dont care what anybody says he is an amazing rider! complete nutcase (on the bike) but amazing none the less.

RallyRon, respect

Supafly, he used to be my favourite until Bayliss came along (He still holds a special place in my heart....lol)

Those Laguna races in 2000!!! every lap i was waiting for him to take that wild, almost impossible line out of the corkscrew! Banzai!!!

And Race 2 at Assen 2000! between himself and Bayliss! Ding-dong or what!

The best move he ever did tho has to be at Hockenheim2000, race 2. Remember this is when he was on the underpowered(but very nimble) R7. He held his pace the whole race, only to be overtaken on the last lap, by Edwards into the final stadium complex, then he stuck his R7 under Edwards which completetly rattled him and he won the race!!!

He would have taken the title in 2000 if it wasnt for that doping thing...

If only...

Haga is a fun guy to watch, although he doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot this season. Hopefully he can turn it around because he's a good guy. Ben has a special place in my heart. He has such control in the machine to be able to slide the rear as much as he does and to even slide the front at his moments. Not only is he a sight to see on a Superbike but you should see him motard. Flat out, he is the best motard rider in the world. Bar none.

ha ha ha lots of laugh ere but if u want to win the title it means naff all surely,
ok im a vale fan but dosent he slide a bit? ..and win
<

Yeah Valentino can slide. Maybe this is just me but I only notice his big slides when he has a comfortable lead and wants to put on a show.

Sorry to dig up an old topic.. I'd have to say Schwantz, Elias, McCoy, Bayliss, Hayden, .. most of the Japanese riders.. 'fear' and 'Japanese motorcycle racer' are two things that don't belong in the same sentence
<

Has anyone else noticed that Rossi can go quicker or wider into a corner than all the other riders.. and yet he manages to hold a tighter line?

Norrick Abe, (check out japan, 1994) on his day made anyone else look like they were cruising!

Jamie Whitham for being so unconventional, and special mention to Niall Mackenzie for being so smooth, and for riding up under the bridge at Knockhill with his face on the tank with Whitham about a foot away from him.

Doohan just never looked comfortable, but that was part of his appeal.

Rossi, just makes it look so easy

I'll have to try and dig that one out.. I love it when riders have those days.. one day can win millions of fans.. ala Elias in Estoril

Yep, some guys will go down in history for these days! Ok it ended in tears for him that day, but Abe became the most talked about racer for a good while after that.

A real shame he never really lived up to that early promise, he was an amazing rider to watch.
