i feel like a move back to wsbk would have been smarter than a move to ducati...dumb move

against the grain,,

Ducati is at rock bottom right now,, they have a room full of reject frames and tons of data of what DIDN'T work thanks to "the dream team". And with a few extra funds from ze-germans,, next year is going to be much better. You can be sure that at the (now joke) snow-show next year, there will be nothing more than the number 69 that will be in common to the current 2 wheeled abortions that you see today. The line up? Are you kidding? You have 2 current podium qualified riders with major "... you" chips on their shoulders,, plus Crazy Joe (IMO a faster better rider than Mr. overrated Marquez) and Mr. reiable Hayden. --- Mark it dude, the red bike comming-out party won't catch me by surprise. I'll admit that I was never a Duc fan, but after getting dumped on, then abandoned,, I am strongly in their corner.

,, to be revisited same time next year to either gloat or eat crow..

anybody got an idea what happens to barbera?

yeah i know hes the tow master and i don't exactly rate him as one of the best but he did show quite a good pace a couple of times on the gp0

hope abraham will eventualy get back on a prototype, i haven't forgotten how he almost was rookie of the year on the worst bike on the grid in 2011.

kid with the rich daddy?sure, but a really fast kid that performed really well given the circumstances IMO

Now sets the stage for Ducatis return to glory. I hope...anyway, with the fact that the sat team will have factory parts will help with not only development but confidence of the riders moving forward. There may be a few surprises next year, and some of you may eat your words.

Ducati will have my support next year. Nicky & Spies on board will just make it sweeter.

Agree.

When Stoner did his announcement I thought, that's it.What's there to see 2013 and on?,more or less.

But then,Dovi will be interresting,(And above all Bradl, who I think will be worldchampion-material on a factorybike in 2014)and now Spies,THAT will be fun to watch.

Ducati will adapt to those fronttires as Audi will help them shorten the time to form the bike around whatever they cook up next,me thinks.

Seems I've heard that one before.

Like you, I'm cautiously optimistic that the second half of '13 will see a Ducati resurgence.

IMO, it all depends on how much $ Zee Germans are willing to spend on chassis and motor iterations. (IMO, without a Furusawa-class engineer, iteration is their only hope.) If they can whip up a respectable number of variations of the critical components, then mix, match, and experiment with those parts, I still think they have some hope of converging on a well balanced machine.

Cautionary note! To make this work, they'll need to produce a hell of a lot more than one or two engine and chassis revisions per season!

John riggins and the redskins the year they won were what started my interest in nfl. The speed he displayed at age 35 odd and 250 lbs or whatever when he got in the clear to score that touchdown in the superbowl was awesome to behold, he was a primeval force of nature. If I recall marino was good in the 49ers superbowl as well, but couldn't match montana in rushing for touchdowns.

The only Riggins I know that plays american football is Tim Riggins, hahaha (sorry, really terrible and totally off topic FNL joke

its a continuation

Ah, get it!

Yeah I am with you on that. I am hopeful at best right now.

Going back to world superbike is a one way street, he's still relatively young and we know that success awaits him there if/when that time comes (barring any major downturns in his ability or health, which hopefully he he wont have). With that in mind, he really shouldn't be in a rush to go back. The yamaha thing this year really hasn't clicked and his performance has been poor, but it can't get much worse so I think it's good that he stays in the paddock. He can try to stay fit, remind everyone how good he is when the opportunity arises and hopefully things will look up for him in the future... Maybe when Suzuki come back full time.

good points tom, and i'd whole heartedly agree if we weren't talking about a pramac ride....

i know ,factory bike, audi, blablabla....

but its still a satellite ducati.thats been .... since barros 07

not sure whether that is any less of a one way street than going sbk, especially if iannone (a rider young and hungry who will do anything to impress with no regard for the consequences) is his teammate.

its like roberts vs hopkins all over again.spies can't win this battle if hes sane

i really wish him the best, i've been a spies fan since his wsbk days (don't follow ama because theres no coverage in germany) but i don't see this move doing him any good.

Spies only needs to survive in MotoGP somehow until his old love Suzuki comes back.

That Suzuki will be any better than Ducati in 2014, well, -- that's anybody's guess.
