Pedrosa just really isn't aggresive enough to win the title, but who knows, this year it's basically only him and Lorenzo in the chase, so he really has a strong chance.

Also, Iannone already lapping very similar lap times to Lorenzo and Pedrosa. Within half a second!

I agree with Curvy on this, it's one lap and it's Mugello.

Ben on the Duc...whew, I don't know what to think honestly, I wonder if iti will be a 1 year deal with him possibly taking the reins of the Suzuki GP effort in 2014?

In any case, if Ben does wind up on the Duc, the conversations taking place between Kentucky and Texas will increase somewhat.

Shows promise for Ducati, however it is Mugello. But for the first three days on the bike it's a great effort from Iannone.

Hector has also been faster than Rossi, and Hayden. But lying in a hospital bed is no way to win championships. There is luck in Rossis bad luck in as such he hasn't been injured in any of his crashes.

I feel for Ben though, Ducati could slip even further behind with the talent in the Yamaha and Honda camps next year.

I thought he was sick of all the BS........? surely a move to Ducati is like jumping into to fire from the frying pan in this case?

Ducati is full go now with development and they are making good moves with their riders. I think they'll improve the bike and with all the quality riders on the bike next year they wont be able to ignore any rider complaints. This is a great move for Spies if you ask me, Nicky is on a one year deal and Spies can pull his own "Dovi" and get back on a #1 bike as long as he performs, plus Ducati would still have a popular American rider for the US market if Spies comes in highly motivated. I think all the criticism he's been getting may have left him with something to prove.

Four words: Lipstick on a pig.

Iannone: perhaps it's the lack of his familiarity of Japanese machines - similar to Stoner scenario of '07 - that allows him to do so well right off the bat.

The two big winners of silly season: Bautista and Crutchlow.

Can't wait for the Boppers to claim any Ducati successes next year as Rossi's because, you know, Rossi developed it!!!!

I reckon that Ducati will have their best team depth wise in a long time if not ever. I am expecting a much better year in 2013 than the last 2 now they are rid of the major money drain and have riders who will all put in maximum effort on track.

That is what I was thinking. Now hopefully they can make things work.

but will they forget the way he quit? That's the question, and knowing them one can have doubts.

He declined to renew his contract. He gave them a ton of time to find a new rider. He didn't leave to go to another team.

How is any of that a bad thing?

I exaggerate to make my point, but is john elway an underachiever because he won only 2 of 5 superbowls he contested while joe montana won all 4 he contested, and are elway's 2 negligible because montana won 4?

No, he's an underachiever because he played for the Bronco's and Montana was a real ....... man who played for the ...... San Francisco 49ers!

- and Steve young can kiss my arse!

(that's as far as I am willing to go talkin' about football with Americans. I just like the uniforms

Yeah I know and they say you can't polish a turd, but they'll eventually flush the .... design. I don't know why I can't help hoping they'll get it right, I don't even like their bikes.
