It really depends on where his head is at. I've said quite often that BB is a head case in the sense that when he has no confidence he isn't a contender no matter what the compeition. Take 2003 for example, he rode around the previous season against arguably the most talented WSB field in history consistantly in 5th place, back in AMA on good but not nearly as good of talent he continued to ride around to finish consistantly 5th. If his head is right when he comes back it is still hard to say, the 999 is still down on power compared to the 4 cylinders over here. Brother Eric muscled 4 wins out of it this season and Hodgson won a further race so the machine can win races. That being said, I look for Ben to be in the thick of things but I think Mladin will have everyone's number yet again. Should be an interesting battle for second with BB, Hodgson, Spies and the Hayden brothers. I predict Ben to finish 2006 3rd in points.

It appears that each Bostrom Bro has a second personality. It really depends on which one will show up.
I agree that Ben will probably end up third in the championship.

Spies challenges Mladin for a few laps every race but he so far hasn't done it consistently. He needs to keep the pace up throughout the entire race.

Think about this though, that was his first season in AMA SBK so there is much more to come from Spies.

Spies is a very talented young rider, at the moment he doesn't have anything for Mat. No one in the AMA does. Nicky used to challenge him fairly consistantly, it's a shame the year Nicky won that Mladin finished 8th. What I'm saying is Mat could give Nicky a run for his money so I don't see anyone in the series beating him.

Guys.............seriously get sky!! Its worth the wonga just for Eurosport! Its far superior coverge (motoGP) than the beeb, just because of how much airtime we get............like all bloody day!! woooo

Plus..........as you say AMA & WSB!..............just need them to get BSB rights and ditch Channel "lets show bike racing in the middle of the bloody night" 4.

Do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry about getting AMA coverage the racing has't been very exciting lately. There were only a few good races last year. This year looks more entertaining but we all know the outcome already............

Don`t be so hasty ,if Hodgson decides to come back to his `real form` then a lot of riders will have to dig VERY deep.

This year will be very exciting having Hodgson with a year of experience under his belt, BB back and they Haydens stepping up to the class. However, Xb may be right, I won't say we know the outcome but it is Mladin's title to lose.

and mlandin could very well lose the title. he ain't no rossi. i think it's gonna be a bit different in 06.

He's Rossi in the AMA, he is absolutely untouchable and has been since 1999. Since 1999 he has the same amount of championships as Rossi, I'm not comparing their talents because I don't believe Mladin would fair any better than Hayden in MotoGP but he has dominated AMA SBK in the same way Rossi has MotoGP.

gonna be different this year Ooost. wait & see!

I've always said wait and see since I started watching this and when Nicky won the title in 2002 I said now this is the end of Mat Mladin, Ben Bostrom was coming back and Eric nearly beat Nicky for the title so I had two guys penciled in that could for sure beat Mat. What happened? Mladin mopped the floor with everyone. 2004, Eric moves to Ducati on Michelin rubber and Ben onto an equal four cylinder so I think again, this is the end for Mat Mladin. Wrong again. 2005 Neil Hogdson joins the series along class rookie Ben Spies and Ducati moves to Dunlop rubber, I think maybe, just maybe Eric, Neil or Spies could possibly dethrone Mladin. Needless to say I was wrong yet again. Mladin has proven he can beat every name on the grid, the only rider he has yet to go head to head with and beat is Roger Hayden. I have a hard time believing Mladin will lose the no. 1 plate in 2006. But here's to someone doing it... as long as it isn't Aaron Yates.

not a yates fan eh. i don't think it's the end of mladin. i just think he's gonna have a much tougher time of it. i think 06 is gonna be a great season in all series next year. the stars are out, the planets have lined up!

It will be a great battle for 2nd through 5th place. Mladin will see who rounds out the podium after he parks his bike at the finish line.
