rossi has had a dream start to the season but can we say hes had a good start to the race yet? think not check his starts this season to last and u will c hes been poor, last year at mugello poor start but the yam made first turn and poor start at catalunya but got there 1st or 2nd plus many more so when is he gunna make the start?

It has to be a flaw in the M1, because there really are no flaws in Rossi's talents and abilities. As soon as he and Jeremy Burgess figure it out the rest of the field is in a lot of trouble.

im sure he will make 1 soon cus he seems to have a new tactic in saving his tyres and then saying bye bye with 5 or less laps to go so to get infront early leaves him with less to do late on.

Yeah but it is hard to say how high starts are on the priority list at Yamaha. I don't know if their chasis problems are "solved" as they have been saying because if they aren't I'm sure that is at the top of the list and even if it is solved they still are working constantly on imrpoving engine performance. It may be something Rossi has to adapt to and make work on his own. Worse case scenario he falls to 6th at the start and moves to 2nd by the end of the first lap and stalks the leader for the following 20 something laps until he makes the pass with 3 to go. It does seem to be working pretty well for him at the moment doesn't it?

oh 4 sure its running ok with the results being the main advantage, but im sure he will make a start sooner than later,

Part of me wonders if he enjoys getting poor starts. He has an almost insurmountable points lead and he can beat anyone on the grid at will, I begin to wonder if he doesn't work on his starts so that he can entertain himself for the rest of the race. I don't think those are his exact thoughts, I'm sure he would like to be able to nail his starts and get away but you can't tell me he isn't grinning under his helmet when he takes four or five riders in one lap and sets in to stalk Sete or whoever is leading.

yeah ooost hes laughing 4 sure, but the reason that its best to make the starts it limits the possibilities of getting into trouble with other riders i.e. sundays race and mugello, even thow melandri is doing a sterling job i for one dont think hes safe yet on the brakes and could be involed in a few crashes..

I've said the same thing about him for the past two seasons. He always seemed to throw it into the gravel, remember when he took out Bayliss pretty hard at Phillip Island I believe? He seems to be getting a lot better about that but you just never know.

Thats the feeling you get isnt it? Ever since Valencia last year i think hes figured that out, where he went into the first turn in sixth.
When he was on the Honda im sure he used to make mistakes out front while leading with a big gap. I think he used to loose concentration almost. By not focusing everything on getting a good start, and focusing more on relaxing at the beginning, i think by the end of the first or second lap hes already in a rythym(unlike on sunday at Catalunya!!!) he had to work for a bit didnt he???

i think he had to work out if the hondas wanted out of the race on lap 1

wild man melandri getting faster each year but still dangerous.

True about Melandri.

Very fast but does look dangerous especially on the brakes and corner entry. makes good viewing for us tho?

Just for clarification it was Gibernau who hit Melandri's rear fender on Sunday right? If it was the other way around we are passing over a huge example of how mad Melandri is on the brakes and mid corner.

true there ooost but gibs rarely over shoots the corner but just check melandri out the last 2 races but he will sort it soon.
