First off, apologies if this is not the place to post topics of this matter and so for the moderators feel ree to move or delete as you wish.

Australian motorcycle racing is the poorer for the passing of Arthur (Artie) Lincoln who succumbed to an illness and has sadly passed away over the weekend just gone.

Artie ued to race sidecars and when he gave that away he become one of the often unsung legends of the sport, the volunteer official.

I have worked with Artie for a number of years and whilst it is often said, in this case it is genuine, but you would not meet a nicer more pleasant man anywhere. He always had a smile on his face, a joke, or a helpful hint and never a harsh word but always enouraging to those around him.

Artie was well known throught Australian road racing, speedway and supermoto circles and to put it simply, racing is far the poorer for his passing and to think of going to a meeting where his smiling welcoming face will not be present, is to say the least difficult.

Apologies again if this is the wrong place but I am aware that many people involved in racing in this country do look at this forum so posting out of necessity - mine.
