I new the usuals could not read and understand my critic of the moves. I see how much have latched on and said its legal as if somebody said it was not. But its a common tactic of debate with those who have nothing, that is to project and say something that has not been said, then try to argue that point. Dirty doesn't mean illegal! And yes Chops, pretending not to have read the thread, in case you missed it, I'm saying others should employ this tactic with more frequency (especially non teammates, but you didn't get the quip). I did say they are legal and I did say its fine, as Hayden basically said it was just hard racing. The thing you guys can't understand is its a desperation tactic. Nobody is willing to go ... for tat and barge into the inside and then because one can't hold the line have to run the other wide. Its dirty. Anybody who can't see the kind of tactic that it is, is not only an ..... but blinded. It appears most other riders are not willing to resort to this tactic. As far as being able to do it, I think most of these top riders have the capacity, I don't think that's the problem. More should do it if they feel its not undermining their own integrity.

All im going to say is nicks pass was nicer than rossi's
<
stop getting your knickers all in a bunch

I thought nicking rode like a real racer by answering back at Rossi's pass. Kudo's to him.

Agree. Didn't I tell you that Rossi was free to .... with anybody else except Nicky?

Great race by Stoner.

Too bad for Nicky Hayden,i thought he would be on the podium today. But if he would have waited with the pass until the last lap Rossi would probarbly run a very defencive line,so not much to do.

I did say it was a dirty pass and I will stand my ground on this. I actually don't even have a problem with it the pass because it is legal but what pisses me off is that Rossi who is supposedly the greatest of all time and by all historical accounts has earned that title continually uses these tactics. He's a better rider than most of the guys out there and could beat them racing clean but he chooses to use tactics that noone else is willing to use. I say he's better than this in his skills but he is not better in this as a person. So some may argue that this is what makes him better than most because he's willing to go further to win than everyone else but after watching how ....... good he is for 10 years now I don't believe that.

Go back a few weeks to Nickys pass on Lorenzo for a podium at Aragon. I saw nothing wrong with the pass and it appeared to be clean but Nicky comments after the race were that it was a hokey backyard pass you should only use on your brothers. Clearly there is an unwritten etiquette that most of us are not privy to. The problem is noone else but Rossi is willing to race below these standards.

Dude, you nailed it! You pretty much said what I was trying to say. end of.

Agree and disagree to a point, yes Nicky does wear his heart on his sleeve and is a little more human than the competitors mentioned. But the part about his voice quivering and on the verge of crying, don't think so. Not sure what the temperature was at the end of the race, but after riding a hard race and sweating like crazy in your leathers, then stopping acdtivity in cool weather, your body is shaking and it's hard to speak, I've experienced the same thing many times after racing motorcross or bmx, can't say a damn thing and sound like I'm about to cry. This of course is just my opinion, but I don't think there are any cry babies in MotoGP, these are pretty tough dudes.

As far as the race, thought it was a bit boring except Rossi, Hayden, Spies, and Simmocelli.

And Johnny Knockdown threw in his line and a lot of you bit...shame on you Johnny. And I'll go back and look, but I don't think Jumkie ever said Rossi put a dirty move on Hayden. Like Nicky was quoted as saying after the race, good hard racing, nothing more.

To be sure - I wasn't implying that Nicky was holding back tears.... but I've heard that quaver in his voice when he was

experiencing major disappointment - at other warmer venues. No doubt some of it is post adrenalin crash jitters.

Erm, Nicky used it at Aragon on the championship leader no less and Nicky know's better than most what its like to be taken out when you're leading a championship. He feined a re-pass on VR, he should have just stuck it in there. Like someone else said, Rossi would.

Johnny K makes a good point. If Rossi's so great - why can't he pass Haystack without banging into him?

Are you guys for real? Last week we had one clown talking about Rossi in breach of his contract agreement with Yamaha because of racing (how crazy is that), and now you bring up some ‘gentlemen code of conduct’? Get real guys, this is not a golf club forum.

Fantastic race by stoner. Absolutely Untouchable
<

Lorenzo for an unspectaular 2nd

and Rossi worked hard for a podium position after a bad weekend.

Just a few comments: Count how many times Jumkie used "dirty" and "desperate" in his "explanations". That IS funny. No doubt he is the true Rossi fan he claims to be
<

Some call those block passes brute force but at with the level of the competition it must require "certain" trust and control of the front tire.

I'd call that finess but then again I'm a booper, right?

I think we will see less of this "dirty racing" when the 1000cc class is back and more/different race lines can be taken throught a corner without loosing pace. Right now the 800cc bikes run a one line race (the follow the leader racing we have been watching) and some bikes are stonger in the corners (high corner speed) like the Yamaha over the Ducati or Honda (straight line speed).....so the passing has to be done in the corners. With the race line being so precise, the "dirty" but legal passing will be seen for riders to move up in postion.

Follow the leader racing is boring for us, but if we see some close battles the moves are not "fair, clean, or classy"....but are ok because they are legal.

Rossi gets slammed for these passes, but Lorenzo, Hayden, Spies, and Stoner all have done them with less outcrying.

Maybe one day MotoGP will run riders on the track one at a time and then they will just see who had the fastest time without the element of rider interaction.....no drafting, fairing rubbing, copying another racer's line.....man won't that be fun!!

man stoner absolutely owns PI...moreso than rossi and mugello

when Stoner has 8 wins in a row at PI then link your post back up.
<

Stoner is laying the groundwork for that streak.....hopefully the Honda will let him continue on!!
