Australian 2021 event cancelled

I heard they locked Sydney down with 60 registered cases. That great management to be honest.

Me living in Spain lol, its like so badly managed, just you watch how we effff it up again.
Reluctantly I agree cancelling the motogp race is reasonable, there will have been nowhere near enough vaccination in Australia by then, but if the F1 race was still scheduled for March 2022 imo it was premature to cancel it, if Australia is insufficiently vaccinated by then it will be because of gross governmental incompetence. If it is a decision by the Victorian state government, who btw again imo have generally managed matters reasonably well once it was clear what was transpiring they have very much made a 180 degree turn from trying to hold the 2000 race when it was clear from the getgo to me at least that this was madness given some of the F1 teams were based in northern Italy, the epicentre outside of China of the early pandemic.

Interesting. Here in the States, the picture painted by news outlets is that Australia has deftly handled the crisis and has a nearly zero infection rate.

Just went to MGP site to check and currently the only races they're selling tickets for are the next two in Austria.

Races following that all appear to be confirmed except for Argentina, but none of those confirmed events are selling tickets. I am signed up for notice if and when they become available for Austin.

Sure, under a 1000 deaths in the whole country and most of them because early on the virus got into some aged care facilities in one state.

Partly due to complacency and partly due to insufficient hedging of bets by the Australian government vaccination has been slow, and hence re-opening Australia in general, and to events like the Motogp and F1 races in particular, may be quite delayed.

Thailand gone now also... delta variant is gonna .... with the second half more than originally expected..

Just got a notice of tickets available for Texas, but they're only selling grandstand passes. No VIP passes at all.
