<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (L8Braker @ Jun 28 2007, 05:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Unfortunately there don't seem to be any unique characters like Rossi coming.

Lorenzo is a serious piece of character but obviously not to the extent Rossi is, it might be a wile before we see anything like him again.

I'm going to go against popular opinion here, so if anybody wants me, I'll be outside doing a rain dance and hopefully it'll rain over Assen on Saturday. With Stoner and West as my riders, plus Suzuki (CV) as the team, I would like nothing more than a wet race.

Has anyone evere noticed how Rossi practices and qualifies? After watching practice I could see riders like de Puniet Hayden and Stoner lapping near the top the whole time while Rossi pretty much waits until the last lap to push? He seems to do that all the time. He might have been able to pull that ........ in the past but how the hell you work on a race setup when you do not push alot? With all this good talent we have in MotoGP now I think Rossi cannot adjust himself but whatever lets see what happens in the race.

What you don't see is that Rossi will push hard and set his best sector times individualy, concentrating on sections of track for analasis. It isn't until the end of the session that he puts it all together into a full lap and finds his place on the timesheets. So often you can see that Rossi appears to have worse race pace than he does because of his method of working.

Yeah I see what you saying, but isn't only ever Rossi that has tire problems like chunking? This is because you can't what stress is going on the bike without a full hard lap really. His "method of working" is not really sufficient enough for a good race setup as you have seen over the past 2 years. In 2005 he could get away with doing this because everything was already dailed in. If you can't put in hard lap after hard lap now in MotoGP your in trouble. Really Rossi races like he qualifies. Puts in a couple very very fast laps and calls it good. Now you can see Stoner has something to say about that

I don't think his method of setting up the bike is the reason why he isn't winning as much anymore, i think Stoner is simply better than him.

Did you hear what Stoner had to say about Assen!! He said they totally destroyed a great track and that they've turned it into just another race track. Good work Casey!!! What you have to say is totally true. Bring back the old Assen!!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Jun 29 2007, 01:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>This could just as easily be a comment about Rossi.
I agree, Hayden hasn't got to grips with the 800 thing yet, but he's getting there now. However there is no denying the Honda is a poor bike compared to the others.

If Gibbo and Capa were still a team, i.e. the Dukes finishing down the order would Yamaha and Honda still be considered in the same light. Rossi and Pedrosa would be fighting it out up front. I think we just have to give the kid (CS) credit where it's due?

shalom alehem...good call!!! as Assen now is a tight track and in the wet it would be very interesting specially that all the riders don’t really know the track that well....

I think all the other fans really want it safe...but it wasent to safe for poor Tony

I agree not to the extent of Rossi because he is the exception but i think he would definately be a podium finisher in races and when rossi does chose to leave moto gp he would be one possible person that could rack up the titles.

I was only actually talking about Lorenzo and Rossi in terms of their character, i think Lorenzos future performance in motogp is very hard to predict. We know he is special, and if i have it my way he will be world champion, but we'll have to wait and see.

Good old Vale! Was it dry or wet in that practice this morning?
Melandri you suck!
