Dovi looking back almost derisorily at Spies when he crossed the line
Never want a win this way and it would have been interesting to see how jorge would have gone on the different tyre. My contention in agreement with jumkie that stoner was one mechanical dnf by jorge away from equality was inclusive of a dnf from another's error, not something I like to raise in advance.
Props to jumkie, stoner's performance in isolation in jorge's absence looked to involve at least a new chassis/honda's massive technical resources and a more positive mental attitude. I am surprised pedrosa could not stay with him, he looked to have good race pace in practice, maybe stoner and his team really found something at the end of qualifying if I am to forsake conspiracy theories.
Good rides by dovi, hayden and crutchlow, better from spies, with bad luck to cal from the first corner incident as well.
Did I hear the BBC commentary right, that Cal is considering going to Ducati??? Talk about knowing how to spoil my day
They have said all along as I posted towards the race, the problems manifest themselves on the harder compound...the softer tyre eliminates most of the chatter - but the problem then becomes one of durability. As Cliche said, you feel Lorenzo would have gone with Dani and Nicky today and as Jum suggests this certainly is the rider making a difference and not a disparity in machinery. Honda got away with a soft tyre deployed at traditionally Yamaha territory. Pedrosa cited fatigue - not tyre fade, so we have to assume that there were no tyre issues whatsoever today for Honda.
Spies is .......
An aside - please don't concede to 'Jumkers' Mike - the consequences will be insufferable.
Seven figure sum reputedly on the table.
He'll be fine - 'currently it's impossible to gauge the potential of the Ducati becauseCasey[Vale] 'isn't pushing hard enough'. It's abundantly clear that the problems with the bike can be sorted in '80 seconds'.
I was perhaps not totally wrong then, as I have said for years that stoner 's method requires a durable tyre, nearly all his dry wins before this year on hard tyres. If he can't make the hard tyre work because of chatter having to run a soft tyre is a problem for him, but he looked to have the soft tyre going the whole race today, albeit without jorge to push him and perhaps be faster on the hard tyre late race.
Yup, go ahead Cal, don't hesistate, ruin your career

Oh jeez, read the post again, this time between the lines
Just read where Spies rear tire chunked like Rossi's. Kid cant buy a break. Bautista, what a tool, that was just inexcusable.. Would have liked to see what the race would have looked like with the Honda's seemingly making the softs work, against Lorenzo on the hards. If reports earlier in the season of Yamaha being on their 3rd engine were true, it looks like they will be on their fifth next week. Maybe crop can give some insight on this brewing problem for Yamaha.
