does anyone feel the same as me as IMO i think honda are getting desperate to find a machine that works...

also add your opinions if your wish.?

Of course they're desperate.

They have to build a bike to help a tiny kid who rides a 250 style and can't break to save his life.

The same bike also has to work for one of motogp's biggest and widest riders who likes to get tail happy and shred tires.

It's no mystery who they should be building it for. Every single one of the new-comers gets it sideways. Pedrosa is a hack.

Wait are we talking about MotoGP here or the Daytona debacle? I think in either case the answer is no. I don't think any of the factory Honda teams are desperate, maybe the satellite teams, but they are always desperate. The crank issue at Daytona was a major goof up on Erion Hondas part, but I think on some level it was a misinterpretation of the rules.

Pedrosa is a decent rider but I see why Honda developed for him and not Nicky. Just like in any sport you develope with the guys who produce the numbers. Nicky from 2003 to 2007 had 3 wins, 23 podiums and 5 poles and a championship. Pedrosa on the other hand in two years produces 4 wins, 16 podiums and 9 poles he's a 125 and two-time 250 champ on Hondas racing against international talent.

Hayden is a great rider for what he can do but is not on par with the riders coming up from 125/250 and SBK. I just don't see AMA racing preparing these guys for the international stage. Colin Edwards being the exception to this rule with his experience in SBK.

Don't get me wrong we'll see what happens when they stick Nicky on the 2008 bike. But I think he won't move far up the field.

wow I didn't even think of that

WHAT THE HELL?

Pedrosa bins his bike running up the back of Rossi and they take Hayden's and give it to him.

Dear God. Do we need anymore evidence that Repsol are calling the shots at Honda?

I feel pretty bad for dissing Nicky, he didn't have a choice.

dont they all bring 2 bikes??

i find that shocking if they did that to nicky, where did you hear/read that... im not doubting it but what i heard was that dani had tried the 07 bike first then went to on 08 bike.. also what i heard was that it was nicky's choice to take the 07 bike

this is why im looking for and interview from nicky on the subject

If this is true then Nicky needs to start looking for another ride pronto. Talk about no respect.

I didn't read it, I just put 2 and 2 together. Nicky was riding the 2008 (admittedly he rode it pretty poorly early on), Pedrosa bins his bike, goes out on the 2007 and throws a tantrum. Next thing you know, Pedrosa is on a 2008 spec and Nicky isn't. Then the article comes out saying Nicky didn't "have access" to the bike. Do you need more than that?

He developed the bike the entire off season while Pedrosa was hurt, then he doesn't get to ride it because Pedrosa crashed his.
<
What?!

I still can't get my mind around that.

Another job for Scud I think, put a target on the wee guys bike.

well ya i'd like to hear nickys take on it, all your doing is speculating on rumor and spreading another rumor

what i find hard to believe is not that honda gave the bike to dani which if they did then honda are a bunch of ......s

but they only came to the first race with one 08 bike instead of four like ever other team that i find very hard to believe

as you said nick had the 08 bike early and he was'nt going too well on it and what i heard was that after seeing dani on the 07 he asked for the 07 bike and decided to race it

now how much truth is in that i dont know!!!!

I don't think Nicky will be riding for Honda in 2009, either by fate or choice. Honda is looking for another of the 250 kid. Nicky's' game right now is to have a kick ... showing this year and jump over to another team. I personally would like to see him go over to SBK.

What I'm saying is not a rumor. It is a theory based upon facts that may prove to be coincidental but likely are not.

Hayden and Pedrosa are both riding the new 2008 spec. Pedrosa crashes his. During the next practice session Pedrosa goes out on a 2008 and Nicky does not. We know HRC only brought 2 08 spec bikes because they brought 07s with them too.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't have the parts to repair or construct a new bike for Dani but it appears that's probably what happened. It makes sense. There is only so much room on the trailers, 2 different specs means you have to carry half the replacement parts to make room for everything---in theory.

It's not a rumor, and the theory is strengthened by Honda's bogus press release that the 2008 wasn't cutting it.

Dani rules the garage and HRC ways forward. Nicky has to do as well or better than the customers each time...until he gets the 2008 bike...and if he still does not perform then HRC will put him even further into the 'Biaggi Program'

HRC has a 250 rider in their sights already and his name is Dovi!
Dovi, stayed with Honda despite them giving him a dog slow 250 machine for the last 2 years, but his loyalty has and will be paid off by HRC with 2009 Repsol ride (IMO).

Honda have always run several teams at once, at least four every year since I started following. Personally I like it when a series has lots of competitors, even more so when different bikes are being run. I'd say Honda are indecisive, but not desperate.
