Another good Dennis Noyes article

Conclusions: Rossi At His Best

Valentino Rossi is riding better today than at any time in his career.

Shock HORROR Casey is not the best well i never.

C'mon... it's a just a fluff piece to fill space that Noyes is contractually obligated to fill.
It's not saying anything forum members haven't already divined on their own. Sounds
like Ducati are having teething problems with the new big bang configuration. Lets hope
they work it out and that Lorenzo can heal quickly or it could be a very boring year of
watching Rossi walk away with it all.

MCN reports Casey very happy with new bigbang motor but raceday will tell .Actually hoping for some good sideways from the boy with a more manageable motor (can`t get PI 09 outta me head

Good insight, rossi at his best ever-concerning for the rest, jls Qatar lap time in 08 was very quick indeed, bring back the tyre war

Noyes should take Rossi's .... out if his mouth.

Btw:

"there is no way that Yamaha will provide identical support (and electronics) to the “satellite” Monster Yamaha Tech3 team -- not when FIAT is writing the big checks."

Babel, u need ti get ur x-ray vision checked out.

Only someone like you could find a Rossi Booper in Noyes.

Well, I admit I forgot/ignored how they control the bikes performance with electronics and of course they will be able to adjust Tech3 bikes performance with that. My point is that with all new engines there is no way they make different equipment for the two teams. The have the same engine, same chassis, same electronics (yes, most likely same electronics) but that electronics might be programmed differently. That is NOW. It would be be the normal way if the factory team get more support and have a faster development but I disagree with Noyes in one part; Unless Lorenzo get up to speed quickly and Spies continue to impress, lets say with a podium on the first race, we might very well see a shift in support already when the first new part start coming in after a few races. Not that Lorenzo will be ignored but more that they give Ben a lot more attention than they would give a normal Rookie. A close to factory support for special customers are far from unheard of and could easily happen here.

Most of it was mere facts, which was fine, but I found some irrelevant bias clearly displaying Bopperism; especially his piece on Stoner. But I know you wouldn't be able to detect it, as is standard.

OMG, Babs, are you conceding something here?

I also agree with some of his takes regarding the Yamaha dynamic; particularly that Spies will likely replace somebody at the factory. Of course that will largely depend on what Rossi tells them to do.

On a related note, I have a question for Rossi-&-new-bandwagon-Spies fans: Would you guys be giving Rossi a pass if instead of trying to squeeze out Lorenzo he would be trying to squeeze out Spies? With Spies new popularity, how would that play out? (I think Rossi would be smart and keep it internally, vilifying Lorenzo seems much easier than getting away with vilifying Ben Spies.

That can't be right. Rossi is old and past it. As Tom said "older people have not got the motivation of the younger people"

Who is Denis Noyes?

Its nice to see someone backing Rossi even though most everybody else in the paddock seems to have Stoner frenzy at the moment.

Hence why its like Pidgeon says:

Dennis Noyes is a guy who gets paid to make MOTO observations and tell hilarious tales about his various indiscretions and racing experiences. Even though his observations aren't terribly keen, his opinion carries weight b/c of the breadth of his experiences.

One of the funniest, most entertaining broadcasts I have ever heard was on Eurosport last year at Valencia. Toby, Jules, and Dennis were in the commentary box telling stories about the horrible situations they managed to work themselves into.

One of the finest broadcasts in MotoGP history.

He is also extremely well connected and well informed. It helps he speaks Spanish like a native, as well as passable Italian. At races, I generally try to hang out with Noyes as he is an interesting guy to talk to. He also talks about much more than just motorcycle racing, that's important too.

I always love reading Noyes' observations. He tends to break things down to a very simple understandable level.

Let's also not forget that his son Kenny is currently ripping up on a Moto2 bike and is a favorite for next season!!
