Hi there all,

Thought it only right to say hello and introduce myself.

My name's Cliff, i live in Lincoln (UK) and have been an avid Rossi Fan since his emergence into the Sport.

I go to the British GP every year (as i believe every true Brit should
<
) and spend 362 days of the year looking forward to it..

Last year, i also tried the continental option, by going to Barcelona for the GP at Montmelo, and i gotta say, i'm sold!!!! So this year i've decided to take my girlfriend to Assen for the TT (via Amsterdam
<
).

The only thing i found was that there seems to be very little info about where to get the best ticket prices and insider information for tracks away from home.

So if there's any battle hardened Assen Travellers out there who can give me a point in the right direction for direct ticket prices and camping arrangements etc, please get in touch, and hopefully i'll see you at Assen in June For a Beer (or 30!!! lol)

Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers Cliff

Hi again,

Marijke, i tried to send you a personal message, but the thing crashed twice, so i'm putting a reply to post back on.

Do you have a phone number for tickets to Assen, with dialling code, where i can get a good price on tickets for the 3 days.

Also if you have any information regarding camping arrangements, such as, additional cost, location, and if its open on the wednesday so i can get an extra night partying
<

And to all, thanks for the welcome
<

Cheers

I think we need an Assen information post, as this gets asked quite often!

I did Amsterdam and Assen in 2006 for my stag do
<
Marijke gave me loads of good info and it does help knowing stuff before hand.

My tip - if your catching the train - and the train stops and everyone runs off wearing GP gear.......follow them!! It means the train is splitting in two and only one half goes to Assen!...........we wouldnt have known this otherwise heh.

We stayed in Amsterdam centre and just got the train in for race day - as theres a station dead close to Assen and the nice dutch people put on a free bus service to trackside...........far more organised than donny by far!

Have fun! think I'll just be at donny this year
<

Ben that might be usefull, otherwise I'm just repeating myself over and over again
<
I'm just going to invade the 'anyone going to Assen?' topic in the lounge, ok

cliff: you can get a passepartout card from thursday till saterday. but there is no need to pre-order those, you can go to the track and buy that tickets there. it costs €70,- (that's like 50 pounds) and you'll have acces to the track, but not on the tribune on raceday.

This is how I normally do it: we always buy a passepartout card for thursday and friday, you buy those at the track too. for the raceday we have tribune tickets, which we order from www.tt-assen.com. only phonenumber I could find on that website is this one: 0900-3882488, our country number is 0031, so that'll be 0031900-3882488 for you.

for information about campings etc, go to this topic http://www.motogpforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6538
I figured more people are interested in that information
<

hoped I helped a bit. if you have any trouble ordering etc, say it and I'll see what I can do

Welcome Cliff, have a few friend that live in Lincoln. Nice safe place compared to London.

Hello mate, I went to Assen last year with a mate on the bikes. SUPERB!!!

Anyway it was our first GP abroad and it was eventful.

A 6 day trip for a 40 min race.

We bought our tickets on line, for around double what we would have paid at the gate. The ferry was a day late getting in so we missed the qualifying and we were also too late for the campsite.

However a local let us camp at his, only 3 kilometers from the track. He has converted a barn into a pub. It was brilliant, full of dutch bikers and their hospitality was first class. It was after midnight when we pulled in. Next day it was only a 15 min walk to the circuit. Bikes were safe, breakfast great and showers provided.

Our ferry was also cancelled on the way home, so another days delay at the ferries expense
<

All in all, it was a great adventure that I can't wait to do again.
