Best part of watching Anaheim 1 was texting Johnny back and forth, hahaha.
Ok, my thoughts. First off, congrats to James. What more can be said really, the ....... kid is nails and now mature to boot, holy .... watch out. In the past he would have wanted to pass anybody in front of him at light speed; which has been his downfall, but now stalking his prey out like a shark, the field is ......!
I was impressed with Dungey as much as the next guy. Nobody expected it. And I have a few thoughts on that. One, the track may have favored his riding style. It was not a super fast track, seemed like it was alot of park and go. No major super fast flowing sections. Second, the other guys that 'may' have come in front of him were either taken out (Bad Seed AKA Chad Reed), or may have not been 100% Villapoto. And third, as it was mentioned, James did not have greatest of set ups (though I don't think its supremely important) but for sure Stewart did tone down the balls out style we've come to both admire and cringe at seeing. Now in Dungey's favor, having beaten Short and Windmill is not small feat, and bodes well for the young gun. So all in all, getting beaten by Stew is expected yes, but beating Short, Windy, and Villa (ya ya I heard you Johnny
) means it wasn't some odd spark of brilliance to be discounted (and nobody did but you get my point). All said though, Dungey was impressive but will need to back it up.
The rest of the field notes:
The race could have been disasterious had Stupid taken out both Reed and Bubba, thankfully he only took out Bad Seed.
And with that, I would like to thank Jesus Christ.
Speaking of the Lord, the Lites race was excellent. I would like to note that I called the podium as JK should back me up on this. And barring any crazy ...., I pick Wiemer for the west title.
Oh, I almost forgot, how funny is it that they kept mentioning convict J. Law had just been paroled? Hahaha.
Lastly, coverage and promotion was outstanding. ...., DMG take note you .......s!
