If this is true......... Who would the rider be? All of their former FX champions are signed to other mfg. http://superbikeplanet.com/2010/Jun/100609moto2.htm

Would AmHonda use either of the two, Kenan Sofuoglu or Eugene Laverty?

<

If the intent is to win. The logical of the 2 former ama would be Hacking.

.

They won't win no matter who's on the bike, unless they clone Pedrosa.

Please no Kurtis Roberts, Id like to see some of the WSS boys in there. Being that American Honda is choosing the entry I doubt it will be any of them. Id also like to see Hacking in there, either way it should make things more interesting for Indy

What's wrong with Kurtis? He's only 31, he's got 3 AMA titles (2 FX, 1 SS, I think), and he's ridden in Europe. If American Honda want to go Moto2 racing, who better than Kurtis Roberts?

Hacking would be best for a 1-off, but he's never raced in Europe other than the Kawasaki wild cards for Parkes.

Call me crazy, but stick Cameron Beaubier on the 1-off ride. He was faster than 2/3 of the DSB class with his time on a Supersport bike. He also has a year under his belt in 250gp last year, which included riding Indy.

Jamie Hacking

Are you calling for the guy who was according to you "embarrassing" at Miller. Hahaha.

I'd also give the nod to Hacking, if he's not too rusty. But how about somebody like Josh Herrin? Clearly he can ride a 600 (assuming Yamaha released him for a one off, which I doubt they would).

Other notables: (both on Yamahas)

JD Beach

Benny Solis (not sure whats the age limit in M2)

It might be hard to find somebody not currently racing for another brand since Honda is not racing AMA this year.

The only other 600 rider that comes to mind is DiSalvo, but I don't think he's the best 600 rider we have to offer.

Race 1 was okay. Race 2 he bogged the start and then punted his fellow Kawasaki riders all over the track including running into the back of Luca Scassa. It almost looked as though he didn't have an expert license. Go back and watch it. It wasn't like he was leaning on people to apply pressure, he was bouncing off of them.

It was embarrassing. He was asked back b/c Kawasaki don't care how much carnage you cause as long as one of their bikes makes the top 10. Embarrassing situation for their organization.

It is what it is. Race 1 was the lipstick. The next 7 races (or was it 5) were the pig.

Hacking has lots of talent, but it didn't really show at Miller or the subsequent wild card rounds.

Hopefully the intent of this wildcard is to point a giant middle finger to the entire moto 2 paddock for shunning American riders. Putting a competitive entry on the seat is imperative otherwise is't just more fodder for moto 2 execs.

Kurtis Roberts? Has he even swung a leg since trying to kill Melandri at Laguna.

hell Jumkie, I'm calling American Honda and recommending you....you game?

...your right, Honda have no American aces riding the make, it's why I suggested Roberts who has been riding and training at the ranch.

I like the Di salvo speculation, being that Yamaha has all the aces in their pockets, as for Roberts the only few times i've watched him he's been way in the back after he tried taking over for big bro!

he rode in the 125 class not the 250s.... & he was pretty awful... never even got close to a top 15. he needs to stay were he is now for a while.

hacking has not ridin since last season & roberts...... damn i can't remeber the last time he rode.
<
disalvo......maybe but i doubt it.... he's inconsistent & not great at bike setup.tho he has had good results on a 600...& he is lookin for a ride. roberts was a honda guy...... hmmmmm. how about 1 of the privateer dsb riders. westby maybe or fong. personally i'd like to see pj jacobsen on it.

Kurtis Roberts?

Kurtis Roberts To Race Ridersdiscount.com Yamaha At Mid-Ohio

Jun 10, 2010, ©Copyright 2010, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.

From a press release issued by Ridersdiscount.com:

Holland, Michigan 10 June 2010

Two-time AMA Formula Xtreme Champion Kurtis Roberts returns to his favorite track to ride the RidersDiscount.com Yamaha YZF-R1 after a few years away from AMA Pro Racing. In preparation, the California native will test the YZF-R1 with Õhlins suspension during the WERA National Challenge event at Grattan Raceway two weeks before the American Superbike event at Mid-Ohio. This is the first time Team RidersDiscount.com will have two bikes on the grid at an AMA Pro Race and should provide an interesting challenge with each rider on completely different machinery.

Kurtis Roberts - I'm looking forward to getting on a good motorcycle at what is probably my favorite track in America. I know some of the guys on the team pretty well and I'm really looking forward to working with them.

Kent Gormat - When we found out that a Formula Xtreme champion was looking to ride in the AMA, we jumped at that chance to get him on our team. We're very excited to have a rider of Kurtis' caliber and background ride with us. This has certainly increased the competitive spirit within the team and we look to Mid-Ohio with great enthusiasm.

That is within 45 minute drive from me. When is it exactly? I find maybe july 2-4th.

So we now know it wont be Roberts. I still think Sofaglue & Laverty would be the best choices.
