Haha. Well in his defense,
Ted is now busy counseling the likes of
Mark Foley, Larry Craig, and Elliot Spitzer. (All prominent political moral leaders who prosecuted, vilified, incarcerated, and spoke against the vises of “dubious” ... practices but were caught in ... scandals themselves).
For those who don’t get the joke,
Ted Haggard was a prominent married Christian preacher who had influence and access to the White House, as a spiritual counselor of sorts. Who incidentally was a
strong "moral" voice, especially an outspoken critic of the
"scourge" of homosexuality and for the
preservation of the "sanctity of marriage". As fate would have it, he got busted having relations with a
male prostitute who fell in love with him, and outted him (perhaps hoping they could run happily away with eachother). But being the good Christian that he is, he asked for forgiveness (which I don’t have a problem with) and then announced that through some spiritual intervention, we was
“cured” of his homosexual tendencies. The .... about it is he sill has a large "Christian" following. Amazing!
Yep. Ole Ted was a pathetic homophobe; he turned out to be self-hating too! The sad thing is that people like this are so brainwashed that they see a need for counseling...as if they're sick. Even though I tend to be liberal, I feel sorry for Craig, Haggard et al because our society makes them feel like criminal sickos. The general public is too busy being disgusted with what they did instead of asking why they did it.
