Well here goes, going to try to create a little thread about a small track that I occasionally work at her in Australia.

The track is located at Marulan in NSW and is essentially a driver training centre, so is quite short but very twisty, perfectly so for motards and recently we have run a few motard days at the yrack so figured why not share a few pics and vids of the days.

First off though, at the moment the track is undergoing approval to be able to host motorcycles and cars from teh local council (yes it is that new) and unfortunately as with all things there are issues relating to noise, so to date we have only run the tar. The comments from teh guys range from 'farkin awesome', 'best track I have ever ridden' and through to one who was talking to his girlfriend after coming off the track when he said 'sweetheart, if only you gave me wood this hard'.

We have so far had two days, both lightly attended swith the first day being wet (first video) but the second being far better weather. First up, a few videos.

The first trackday - wet day.

The second drier day - two vids, one morning and one the afternoon

As a little note, there is no electronic timing at the facility yet (remember, it is a driver training facility and not a track

) but the handheld lap record belongs to a Porsche GT3 driven by Barton Moore (second in a few European championships). Before the motards the fastest road bike recorded was 44.1 using Racechrono and a few handheld low 43 second laps (although some claim 42 seconds).

To give an idea, the rider with the video camera (videos 2 and 3) was cutting 43 second laps which placed him in the fastest four on the day, but you will notice at the 5 minute mark in the first video that the camera bike is passed around the outside by a bike which disappears quickly (4min59sec). This was the fastest bike on teh day, ridden by the Australian champion (Angus Reekie) and was his practice bike on 2 year old slicks, yet he was cutting consistent low hand timed 40 second laps and did get into the high 39 seconds (just a bit of trivia)

And now a few links to pics of the day.

Oh, and there was one session for four road bikes who are looking at a private hire for their mates from one of the local Naval bases so there are some roadbike pics

Just thought I would advertise it.

Looks like a badass track, true a little short but perfect for motards has great potential if the authorities approve it.

Second vid is great, love the grunt of the Sxv. Are they adding a dirt section?

The track is around 1.1km (around .70 of a mile) of good sealed tar.

As for dirt, the intention of the track owner is to build two separate dirt sections and add around another 300 - 500 metres of variable dirt all things being equal
