Anybody here anxious to see Jorge Lorenzo in MotoGP next year? I think he would bring a little spark to the premier class. His talent reminds me of Rossi, while his personality brings to mind Biaggi. I hope Vale races a few more years, because those two could really have some epic battles. As opposed to the Vale/Dani match-ups.

Have a feeling he'll end up on the Yamaha alongside Rossi next year. Should be interesting anyway, hes very talented and should be a future world champion given the right package. We really are in for some interesting battles when Rossi hangs his helmet up (which could be 2008).

A cross between Rossi and Biaggi??? That would be someone who makes excuses really fast!

Lorenzo is a bit psycho but he's cool in his own way. Very talented. Maybe a wannabe Rossi...the cardboard guitar made me laugh on Sunday. His justification was people pay to be entertained, so he was entertaining

Not that he needs to justify himself..I love seeing them getting up to all sorts.

you mean spoilt brat. he is so arrogant its annoying, he tries to be like rossi but fails - rossi can pull off big stunts because well... he's rossi but lorenzo is just plain arrogant.

no, i want to see the lorenzo/ bautista battle first- when they are on a level playing filed ie. bauti has a year under his belt. but i am curious to know how 'bighead' (as i call him) will get on in motogp though - he is an awesome talent.

do you really think he would go to yamaha? i always thought he would take elias' ride at honda...

Well if Rossi really is leaving MotoGP after 2008, you gotta believe that Yamaha are on the lookout for the next big thing, and lets be honest, at the minute thats Lorenzo. I think he will know that with Yamaha he would have factory machinery, if he went to Gresini that wouldn't be the case.

I think Toseland will take Elias ride.

yeah but lorenzo is going up 08 so rossi will still be there. im still not 100% sure that rossi will go at all but take it that he does - then i could see lorenzo at yamaha but until he goes i cant see lorenzo being no.2 can you? his ego wouldnt take it. christ, if hayden didnt want to be #2 to rossi with how laid back he is then lorenzo wont, the limelight would be taken away from himand he'd hate it!

yeah good point toseland at honda is the obvious option. toseland/ lorenzo, toseland/ melandri, rossi/ lorenzo hmmmm interesting...

I think Hannspree are ensuring that Elias stays in Elias's ride

Aren't they Elias's sponsor?

Lets say If Lorenzo knew for sure that Rossi was leaving in 08, I think he'd play No.2 for one season, in the knowledge that the next he'd take over as team leader. At least then he'll be in a factory team, which is important in MotoGP, as far as I'm aware no sattelite team has ever won the title.

Say what you want but Lorenzo is a truly excellent rider and a bit talent for the future. The flag planting celebration was just excellent, I just hope i can get myslef one of those in time for Donington.

I think people who say he is trying to be Rossi are getting too bothered by the fact that somebody else likes to celebrate and entertain his fans.

The rider he is most similar too with his attitude and arrogance is King Kenny himself, probably not a coincidence since Kenny gives him advice often. As for moving to motogp, its a tricky one, buthe is no ..... and knows he wont be a team number one in his rookie year. He is smart enough to know that learning from an experienced rider is valuable. But i don't expect to see him with Rossi because Fiat have a two year deal but Jorge is heavily backed by Fortuna, they pulled out of motogp to back him afterall.

Could we see a return of Fortuna Honda pons, running Lorenzo and Checa?

100% agree!

The more personality on the Moto GP grid the better, we don't want it turning into a business procession like F1 do we.

Lorenzo's celebration was good with the flag.

Surely he will move up to Moto GP next year and as it is almost certain Fortuna will go with him, will be interesting to see whether Fortuna go with him and form a 1 rider team like Valentino with Nastro Azzurro or if Fortuna make a 2 rider team with another rider such as Checa or maybe Melandri. Also is it certain Lorenzo will be on a Honda next year coz Honda want Dovi and Toseland aswell and unless they increase the number of bikes they have on the grid, they may run out of spaces.

Riders in the running for 08 Honda rides:
Pedrosa
Hayden
Melandri
Elias
Checa
Nakano
Roberts (honda engine)
Toseland
Lorenzo
Dovizioso

Melandri [on the line, to substitute Capirossi]
Elias [on the line, if only one hit on 07]
Checa [on the line, getting old on his way out and barely survived]
Nakano [on the line, as Tamada]
Roberts (honda engine)
Toseland
Lorenzo
Dovizioso

Could be wrong of course!

no, i never particularly liked rossi's stunts - at least not after every win anyway. lorenzo loves attention - we all know that - and i think that all the 'entertainment' is just to get him the extra attention. and not that there is anything wrong with that; i just feel that if he wasnt so arrogant then he could pull it off better. thats just my opinion and i dont expect everyone else to agree with it!
