I know this is technically off topic, but as the last American (And only) MotoGP World Champ, it deserves its own thread in this forum.

"Always charming, always respectful and unquestionably talented."
The best description of Nicky I have ever read. I had the pleasure of meeting him once and to say he was a loss to not just motorcycle racing, but the world as a whole, is a mastercraft of understatement. #69allin.

I have nothing else to say other than, it still sucks.

America's champion forever. I was able to talk to him a couple times in Indy. The first time I met him I was waiting behind his pit to get his autograph along with many others. I had no marker so my idea was to quick get my ticket in there before he hands the marker back. I failed he grabbed my ticket reached for a pen and I put my hands up and shrugged my shoulders. He returned the hands up shrug of the shoulders with his Nicky smile. I just laughed about it. In the long run I enjoyed that interaction more than an autograph. Later that weekend he podiumed and I got to spend some time with him after the race. He will always be my favorite gp rider. More than that he was just a special human that could light up a room.

One of these years I plan to get down to Owensborrow for 6/9(may 9th) day.
