Notable storylines: Can Maverick Vinales capitalize on his resounding COTA victory? Will Marc Marquez finally break the drought? Will Acosta take maiden victory on Spanish soil? Do Bagnaia and Martin strike back?

Dani Pedrosa Wild Card :D :D :D

Should hopefully be a cracking race weekend with a lot of stuff going on. Not sure about predictions yet because this is a stacked field where I feel a winner could come from anywhere.

I know there is a lot of love for Brad Binder here but he really needs to....assuming he beats Miller..... finish ahead of Acosta and Pedrosa. I personally wouldn't bet on it though.

I agree. There is a lot of talk about the riders who look good this year. Brad is the guy who looks the worst so far. Its early though. No need for him to panic.

I think Brad had his day in the sun. Pedro is too fast for him. Not to say Binder won't have good races whether it's in Jerez or elsewhere, but he doesn't have the speed for titles. We know KTM wants the factory team to be Pedro and Marc so that to me says everything we need to know.

Completely agree

Ah it’s win it or bin it time for the Spaniards but the Italian’s want to shove it back it back up them on Spanish territory. Usually an interesting race

We know pedro ist faster than the factory boys but now we have the rare opportunity to see how he compares to someone from the old class of 2013 besides MM. can pedrosa be the fastest ktm once again?

Jerez will be a big test for Mav and Aprilia. They’ve been competitive for two races in a row. Let’s see if they can keep it going. It’s really too bad that Maverick crashed out of Portimao because Martin would be under championship pressure.

Agreed, the Portimao crash was really unfortunate since the points battle would be so much different right now. I'm hoping Maverick can put in a good showing at Jerez. The good thing is he seems to trust the Aprilia, and I would wager his confidence is at an all-time high so that's all stuff in his favor. I expect him to be in the top 5 at the end of FP1.

I thought one of the knocks against Mav was his inability to get on pace with a full fuel load. I wonder what's changed.

Maverick has always been very fast when he can get out front, setting fast laps like Lorenzo, but had problems, like starts, and passing people, he would just sit behind them could not pass, them.

Now he can do both, get off the start and carve his way through the pack, he is a changed man.

Wow, you lot really do write people off very quick. Someone will have egg on their face at the end of the season, let's see who that will be I suppose...

What do you mean, “You lot”? Are you some kind of race-ist?

I think I'm the second biggest Binder fan here, after MDub, yet I cannot disagree with you. Binder just seems very stale this season, and this poor form by his standards has come at the absolute worst time.

Look at what Toprak is doing for BMW in WSBK. For years they've been so hit and miss and when they sign a world class rider, they are suddenly at the front. Acosta is showing for KTM why I have said for years that Aprilia needs fresh blood.

I'm hoping his form continues too, but we shall see. As others have said.

If you are talking about Vinales, it's because he has form. He ain't called the 'winter testing champion' for not reason, and he is a known hothead for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. He is also the only rider in MotoGP history to intentionally try to blow up his bike in a race.

I'm actually talking about Binder. And for the record, I am his biggest fan! 🤣
You might be right or I might be right by saying he should not be written off. Who knows? My point is we've only had three rounds! And in COTA he was riding with a foot fracture the whole weekend and still managed to make up places.

Would the double b fan club please stand up. I don't think anyone is writing Brad off other than those who never really had anything good to say about him. But the pressure is mounting. Seeing what Pedro is doing does not help him. The first 3 tracks were very unique tracks. It is time for him to start showing some consistency or the doubters will be at his door with pitchforks.

I am most interested in how Vinales will do this coming weekend, is he for real this year or not ?
