It was another weekend of Ducati/Bautista domination, though Toprak was able to halt Bautista's win streak at 11 by taking the Superpole race victory. Redding had a nice showing in Race 2. Top Brit and top BMW. That hasn't happened often for Redding since taking over at BMW. Petrucci also managed to score his first podium of 2023 for Ducati. Maybe he is finally coming to grips with the Pirelli tires. Gerloff also had a decent showing in the Superpole race and Race 2. Top-10 finishes on a customer BMW are not easy to achieve.

On the flip side, Gardener and Aegerter had mediocre showings with the Swiss rider struggling to find grip. HRC achieved nothing. Lecuona scored 1 point, and Vierge scored only a handful of points due to his mixup in the Race 2 bedlam. Even Rea had a mediocre showing at Donington.

The only consistent performers in WSBK right now are Bautista and Toprak.

Supersport is turning into the Ducati show as well. Bulega is becoming unstoppable, and Mazi's missteps and Donington are moving the championship closer and closer to Bologna.

Bar any rider errors, I can easily see Bautista win every race from now on. Donnington was the only "difficult" track for them.

Pettrucci got his first podium and it doesn't happen that often that a rider from a satellite/private team makes the podium especially when the factory boys hadn't DNF'ed

Rinaldi was not involved in Race 2 after being collected in the first lap pileup when Sykes high sided on Lap 1.

I don't think it would have mattered though. Petrucci was second best Ducati all weekend, and he was ahead of the accident when it happened. Rinaldi showed podium-pace in a couple of practice sessions, but he did not race well at Donington.

Can't see Rinaldi keeping that factory seat in 2024. Personally, I'd like to see Bassani in that slot. As for Bautista, it almost seems unfair at this point.

He won 6 or 7 titles, they weren't limiting RPM's enough:) and the Rea love affair continues, why only Kawasaki getting the extra RPM's.

Good question though I just assumed they get extra because they were in a deficit.
