Unfortunately, Supporsport is not available on Youtube, and Twins Cup wasn't racing at Road America, maybe because the entire circuit was repaved and Dunlop wasn't sure what would happen with the tires.
Supersport was another Xavi Fores coronation ceremony. With the long straights at Road America, he wasn't able to pull away, particularly not from Stefano Mesa, whose diminutive size makes him quick in a straight line. It also helped that the balance of performance was adjusted for the Suzuki GSX-R750 and the Panigale V2 headed into the weekend. In the end, it didn't matter. Fores is too good on the brakes. It's nearly impossible to get around him. His performance on the brakes, and his results, hint at possible strategies for winning titles in the era of balance of performance. In Superbike, it seems that it's all about getting weight over the front to keep the bike accelerating in a straight line, without giving up too much in the corners and braking zones. In Supersport, it could be that late-braking is the key to maintaining track position and controlling the action. This seems somewhat counter-intuitive but Fores is proof that it has potential, imo.
Good racing in Supersport. Fores won both races from Stefano Mesa. Hayes took 3rd in Race 1, and Tyler Scott took 3rd in Race 2.
