British Superbike at Knockhill this weekend. It’s a short lap, but the top ten times in free practice are all about .5 apart. Should be a barn burner.

Another great weekend of racing. Yamaha were dominant again, and Irwin struggled, though Knockhill is a fast track.

Brad Ray put down a marker on Saturday, winning Race 1 comfortably ahead of O'Halloran, Skinner and Jackson. Danny Buchan scored an excellent 5th place. Brooks, Haslam and Sykes continued to struggle, vying for the last spot in the Top 10.

But Jason O'Halloran turned the tides on Sunday by winning Races 2 and 3. In Race 2, Brad Ray faltered to 4th place as Skinner and Jackson both put their Kawasakis on the podium. In Race 3 Rory Skinner crashed out of the lead, leaving Ray and O'Halloran to fight for the win. Jason made the pass late in the race, and stayed in front with Jackson finishing a distant 3rd place.

Bradley Ray (26) saw his championship lead decline to just 16 points. Jason O'Halloran (200) notched his 2nd Sunday double. Lee Jackson (174) improved to third place as his teammate Rory Skinner (148) dropped to 4th with Kyle Ryde (141) withering to 5th place. Glenn Irwin (134) has effectively had his championship bid ended, despite opening the season with 3 wins at Silverstone.

Thanks lex.

I do have a soft spot for both Brookesy and Jason but for differnet reasons (not just they are aussies) so enjoy watching and hearing of their explouits

Brookesy, I just like. Decent due to chat with and generally really down to earth when I have seen him back here.

Jason, well I was there at his very first effort at road racing. We were running a motard ride day using some of Oran Park north. The day was not a public day but was prior to a race meet and Jason turned up on his bike, full leathers etc and started slow but by the end, he was only bested by the nations best. Been watching the exploits since so seeing him do well is good to see

I'm sure they appreciate an endorsement from a fellow countryman!

It's interesting how different their fortunes are this season. Brookes is 39 now, and it looks like age may finally be taking it's toll, after winning his second BSB title in 2020.

O'Halloran, on the other hand, has been getting stronger for years. He had one hand on the trophy last season, but it slipped away late. Maybe this year will be his time. He's on the right bike, and he's making the most of Ray's mistakes. We'll see!
