Rossi confirmed he lost the front and took out Taka, picture are floating around the net that confirm it.

Dovi only seems to bring it when it’s too late or doesn’t count. Harsh but seems to be mostly true.
Vinales did a great job, he had the pace and knew it, made it stick in the end.
Fabio was awesome, can’t wait until the arm pump aftermath recedes.
Too bad for Rins but he’ll learn from it.
That looked like a really high speed off for Rossi and Nakagami, hope he’s ok.

It seemed a strange tyre choice with both the Suzukis on the hard front compared to the rest of the field, not sure if that contributed or not. Sucks for Rins though, he would have been scrapping with the top 3 I felt.

Morning fellas! I'm a wee late but here are my 2 cents about the things that I got impressed with the most within and after the race, in completely random order and for sure I am forgetting something so I'll be back later :D

- Assen is a freakin' great track. I say that about a lot of tracks. Maybe I just like tracks.

- For the past 3 years all I've heard about the blue bikes has been "Yamaha this, Yamaha that, Yamaha is a .... bike, they need to (...)".
They looked rather fine to me this weekend. I saw a rookie that hammers down poles at 20 y/o. A Vinales that often can be faster than anyone in FPs. I see a bike that gets anyone new to it faster (Quartararo, Morbidelli, but also Folger and Vinales himself) and that gets those who switch from it completely lost (Lorenzo, Zarco). Maybe it ain't that bad deep down?

- Vinales, when in shape like yesterday, is literally riding with a style as spectacular as Marquez's.

- Ducati is no longer "the little Italian factory that challenges itself against the Japanese giants". As much as I adore Ducati since day one, one thing has got to be said: they got the Audi/VW + Phillip Morris money, they do more research and engineering that any other brand. Their riders have both shown they can win.
How come on tracks/conditions that are not good to them they are unable to even dream about a podium?

- I'm a Rossi fan as much as Noel Gallagher is a Man Utd fan, but I do not enjoy seeing him crashing. I think he really has lost lucidity these past few races.

- Marquez does NOT like getting second :D

The Rossi crash where he took out Nakagami - https://twitter.com/M_Masselink/status/1145373176551153665

And from Rossi's on board - https://gfycat.com/impassionedanguishedenglishsetter

And a pic still from the videos

And before anyway asks, Rossi apparently was very quick to accept blame and apologised

I highly doubt anyone was going to ask, hard to escape the blame on this one though...even if you are Rossi.

I do think MotoGp did quite a good job of not showing any footage for as long as they could get away with it though.

Another curious observation. Yes, I know, different times, different circumstances, but a fact is a fact: Preziosi, with all his budget limitations, won a WC with only 4 years of work (almost with 3), D'alligna hasn't won any with 6 years, and most probably by 7 years of work.

Seems Doubtouso is not the only one with severe bad luck in the red team.

Preziosi had Stoner and sorry if that made a bit of difference :D

Rins would have been up there with vin and marc and rossi with the 2 ducs and the other petronas yama, if none of them would have crashed. Would have been interesting with lorenzo too. Anyway, marc 2019 champ after Barcelona. Dovi will finish 2nd again and rossi 3rd. So this season is over. He will win at sachsenring and have a somekind of 50 point lead after the break.

Anything can happening in racing I guess (injuries etc) but if Assen shows Marc on a track that doesn't suit his bike (2nd)... not much left to say.

The guy is a freak, on top of that he never gets injured despite his countless practice session crashes. Other than injury I don't see how the others will claw back the points deficit.

Lorenzo hit the deck hard.

This guy is never ever going to catch another break or what?

At work so missing out on the practices dammit

When you are doing it that much.... it's not luck or lack thereof. It is poor riding. He and Rossi should retire.

Mercurial Marquez doesn't crash - he just slides gracefully.

Anything can happen yes. Rain on race day, wet track then drying up. Starting to rain during the race. Him crashing. .... knows what. It aint over, but its pretty damn hard for the rest to catch up the points. Still lorenzos fault.

Like I said, "different times, different circumstances".

Preziosi found Stoner, bet on him, when no one wanted him. Whose merit is it??

What I'm trying to say is that Stoner's immense value as a rider made Preziosi's bike results a lot better that the actual bike's potential. Especially for all wins that came after 2007.

IMHO, of course.

Bottom line is that no-one was going to beat MM this year absent major personal misadventure to MM, who has already dropped points from minor misadventure.

If the title being open because MM might crash and have a season affecting injury floats your boat good for you, my preference is to watch MM who has never been the guy I primarily support deservedly win another title by being the best out there if he is so.

We all know barcelona would have ended a whole lot different. But then lorenzo happened. Another easy win at sachsenring for marc on sunday. 100% honda track more or less. Will be interesting to see what rins can do and quartararo. Pretty sure they will hang pretty good and can surprise. And crashlow. Ducati wont be there at all. Pretty slow track and it aint a ducati track at all. They have been pretty bad there over the years, even with stoner. Yamaha factory showed great pace there last year and they have looked pretty good the last two races.

I can't help but think you are wrong there, Dovi will be behind his teammate come seasons end, he's riding as if his tyres are made of marshmallow (got to preserve them). Rossi will not be in the top 5 Quatarraro and Vinales will easily pass him, I reckon Rossi will lose it again at either turn 1 or 12 in Saschenring
Dovi will be 6th or lower.

In retrospect I find it funny how everybody lost their minds over the Ducati "rain-deflector" earlier this season, as if it was the final piece of the puzzle to give them total dominance. Seems like Ducati have regressed this year... or maybe they stayed the same and everybody else got better?

I'm unimpressed by them, they can put 3 riders in the top 10 consistently but suffer to get into the podium. They don't have the speed advantage anymore, even the Suzuki looks competent in the straights, and the bike can't turn. Maybe they shouldn't have told Petrucci to hold back when fighting his teammate, he seems to have better pace and race craft than Dovi these days. They need to reinvent themselves and the bike I fear.
