You are so right. After all you have been in his office and have first hand knowledge of what he prescribes and have superior diagnostic skills to that of a respected doctor, trusted and admired by the racing community, who's devoted his life to saving the lives of racers. Surely, you know more than all the people who have worked with him for all these decades. Surely a fine fellow like you would never bad mouth an esteemed doctor based on some rumor you heard on the internet, because we all know how reliable that stuff is.

Naturally you have concrete evidence of his malpractice and a list of riders who have complained about how he ruined them with pills and poor diagnoses, isn't that so?

Well I googled riders complaining about being prescribed pain pills and being allowed to race but nothing came up. Ironic huh?

I was wondering during the race how it is that MM manages to save so many of these front end moments whilst the others are all dumped on the track. Looking at the JZ and AD crashes one thing occurred to me. MM rarely drops a front end moment when he is on line and on the sticky part of the track and he always seems to have a tuck mid corner at full lean. Whereas traditionally a low side happens on the entry phase of the corner. JZ and AD were off line on entry and had no chance to react. This suggests to me that MM's real talent is managing the entry phase, and once at full commitment mid corner he has a better chance to react given the elevated grip level on line and mid corner with his knee and elbow firmly in contact with the asphalt.

He also seems to concede a blown corner at entry and gathers it up possibly knowing he has the pace to recover later, whereas other riders desperately try to make the apex even when there is no chance they can close the line.

The reality is probably far more complex but its the best I can come up with.

Maybe try Wikipedia or the Knockdown Compendium of Unfounded and Irresponsible Rumors. Or you could admit there's no foundation whatsoever for your complaints about Costa.

Yes the same Dr. Frankencosta who prescribes pain pills for races and lets riders ride with severe concussions.

There’s a long list of borderline quackery that has happened under Mengelosta direction. People like to point at him for saving Doohans leg as a Jesus moment, but what he did was against conventional medical procedures, not condoned by most medical professionals, and very likely could have gone south.
I’m pretty sure under a standard doctors care, that wouldn’t have been suggested or performed for fear of malpractice. He had unique immunity because he was a personal doctor, dealing with what was basically a friend, who was risking all to save his career.
For years he has let riders ride under questionable circumstances. His problem is that he wants to befriend all the riders and that allows him to be manipulated to their ends. He’s basically Mike Webb with an MD.
If it’s true that CC had a concussion and was allowed to ride, he should be stripped of his medical license.

Were it true that ifs ands and buts were chocolate and nuts, you would be an inedible candy bar.

Its not in the thesaurus so Little Reaction couldn’t find it.
He could find it in the forum archives, as we discussed his quackery years ago. But we know that won’t happen given the Kottontops can’t seem to figure out how to work the ignore and search buttons

Exactly. What we know now about concussion aside, a person doesn't have 100% of his motor skills for weeks after a concussion. Thats putting a lot of riders at risk. It was said earlier in this thread that Cal rode a race and later doesn't remember it. If thats true thats all the proof of malpractice I need.

You mean the Dr. Costa who saved Doohan's career with breathtakingly difficult surgery? That one?

Yes the same Dr. Frankencosta who prescribes pain pills for races and lets riders ride with severe concussions.

Fact is the medical profession is absolutely infested with real, truly dangerous quacks who literally get away with murder. Because Costa is so damned famous he can't afford to take unethical risks because someone so high-profile is under so much scrutiny, especially because he treats athletes with multi-million dollar contracts. The average orthopedic surgeon is, because of malpractice laws, overly conservative.

If he performed an unusual or difficult surgery, that doesn't make him a quack. It makes him a pioneer.

I googled heroin addicts complaining about getting hiv from needles and nothing came up either. Junkies wanna get high. Riders want to race.

The problem is, Little Naivete, cant understand the athletes will do anything to get back on the track or field. Their not the ones complaining.
Walter, Are you oblivious to whats going on with sports in America that you would rebut this, or are you just reacting like you always do whenever I post.
Don’t answer, I already know its the latter

I think it could also be said that Costa may get away with more because he saved Dohans leg in such a questionable way. Also what countries medical practices does the motogp medical team follow? Does it change depending on the country they are in or do they do their own thing? MichaelM paging Dr. MichaelM. I think he may be the only one who could possibly answer this question.

How many doctors out there would let a person race less than 48 hours after being under anesthesia?
I’ll await your incitefull response Walter

So, if a bunch of couch racers discussed it on a forum and there is no evidence, not even a credible rumor, on the internet which is infested with millions of crackpot rumors, then it must be true. Right?

That would depend on the anesthesia used. And there are many kinds.
Also, it would depend on how long a person was under.

Talk about anesthesia... there was a guy I knew, only slightly, from club racing days, who had the rattiest TZ250 I've ever seen, who was on most days unbeatable. But his main thing was vintage racing. His name was Dave Roper, and Dave always raced stoned on weed. I lost track of Dave and then heard from a pal that he went on to be the first American to win The Isle Of Man... while totally ripped.

I need him to explain the condition that causes hair to grow on Petrucci’s entire face. Is he the missing link or just lactose infollicant?
