Sounds good on paper, but guess what the rumor going round. The US government did not allow the stock version into the states and made them gut 22 hp out of it. They are saying the 22 hp is easily retrieved, but will cost you some serious money to get it back. Piping and a different ECU., Another step down the rabbit hole people, get control of your senators and congressmen , BEFORE THEY GET TOTALLY IN CONTROL OF YOU..

Oh, and does thing not look like a ....... praying mantis

Much better than Kawasaki's other attempts at styling motorcycles. I've only ever like the old ZX-6R circa 2002 or 2003 (current ZR600 or whatever they call it) and I like the 2008 ZX-6R. Everything else has looked like crap.

On another note, this bike is really bad news, imo. They've simply raised the rev ceiling and increased valve lift. Formula for disaster. Looks great on paper, but imo, that engine is going to be tearing itself apart at higher engine speeds. The price is ridiculous as well. Very cool bike, but really dumb to offer this as the standard model. Some people love liter bikes simply b/c they have a flat torque curve which makes them much more pleasurable to ride than a 600. The last thing they want is another $2500 tacked on to the MSRP and higher maintenance bills.

Valve lift and cylinder compression are free in WSBK simply so the manufacturers can run conservative, reliable lift and compression on the stock model. No reason to get stupid with it.

Here is something else thats being kicked around, any BMW 1000 owners out there that can confirm this

The theory is the bike would not meet noise regs.

Noise is checked at half max rpms, redline 14000, bike is checked at 7000. Bike was to loud at half max rpm, so they electronically limited to say 12000, so they could test at 6000, and pass.

They went on to say that this is the way BMW got the 1000 into the states, that it was actually limited to 9000 rpm for the first 600 miles, then the dealer could flash the ECU to give optimum performance

I had no idea. That's interesting info.

I like it. Though they stole the styling cues from Honda & Yamaha.

Yeh it looks like when people take different parts from each manufacturer and make a bike out of it in photoshop. Maybe thats what the designers did.
