I`m very surprised this year at my own lack of interest in the premier class. Its a first for me.I find myself totally drawn to Moto2 with its almost level playing field though I cant deny that I`ll be pricking up my ears if Ben Pie starts delivering but otherwise I`m actually bored to a degree with MotoGP and its cc capacity and electronic gadgets.
Very interested if any other member feels the same and why.BTW not trying to start a rebellion here but please do express your honest opinion.

The "newness" of Moto2 has captured my attention, and I like the performance characteristics of a 600cc 4-stroke and fatter Dunlop control tires to a 250cc 2-stroke with skinny Dunlops. Moto2 development will be fascinating to watch b/c as soon as these things take to the track in a race, the riders and engineers will have a very specific wishlist of upgrades. Their demands will filter back to the chassis suppliers, and at that point, you've got to believe that teams who make their own chassis like Tech 3 will have an advantage.

GP hasn't really captured my attention yet. The biggest change is the engine life rule, but it may take half a season or longer before we start to see how it affects the championship race. It doesn't look like it will do anything to improve the individual races.

I almost feel the opposite. Motogps silly 800 era may be actually about to become consistently entertaining, it also has the battle of different manufacturers with different engine formats adding interest.

Moto 2 while still unproven, has a format which has proven to be unsuccessful in motor racing, namely A1 GP. I find the same engine manufacturer doesn't allow for fans to really segregate into their colours, brand support should never be underestimated.

Of course there are examples like rossi, where his fans will follow wherever he goes. I'm very hopeful that moto2 is successful as it has the potential for great racing but I feel that money may call the shots as usual, and when tech advantages are gained in a class running the same power plant, then the potential to spread the field is argueably greater than a series running different manufacturers.

although I do agree with you BB that 1 chassis may be much better than another.

I can't wait to for this new class as the 800's have been crap - pity the 600 engine seems to be a bit underpowered - but in years to come hopefully any privateer team will be able to choose from a range "off the shelf" to enter the sport with a rider who perhaps hasn't got access to sponsorship dollars.
