Cal Crutchlow will be ready to step in should Ben be ruled out

???? /me wonders is that for the Valencia race or test or both? hmm

Toni Elias to LCR Honda announcement has just come out.

Clears the way for de Puniet to go to Pramac Ducati with Capirossi

yeah, herve said he hopes to finish the season with ben but cal will be there with his leathers anyway so should ben be unfit cal is there. he said they will field 2 bikes

Last round will be the last chance for some rider's to fight for a higher place on the championship table. So there will be some points battles.

One of those is between Rossi and Pedrosa, for the 2nd place, Pedrosa has the easiest job.

If Rossi wins the race, Pedrosa will need a 10th place to secure his second place, and if Rossi finishes on the 2nd place, then Pedrosa will need only 1 point (15th place).

and anyother result by Rossi will automatically secure Pedrosa's 2nd place in the championship. Rossi should finish 1st or 2nd in the race, to make any chance on the 2nd place of the championship.

Another battle will be between Stoner and Rossi, for the 3th place of the championship.

If Stoner wins the race, Rossi will need to finish on the podium(a third place), if Stoner becomes 2nd, Rossi will need to finish 7th, if Stoner finishes on the 3th place then Rossi will need to finish on 11th, if Stoner finishes 4th, Rossi should finish on 14th place, and any other result by Casey will automatically inssure Rossi of his 3th place in the championship.

So Stoner should finish 4th or higher to make any chance for the 3th place.

The fight for the 5th place of the championship is as exciting as the fight for the 3th.

and it's between Dovi and Stoner and Rossi.

If Dovi wins the race, then Casey will need to finish on the podium.(actually at this situation Rossi should finish 13th at least, otherwise He will be overtaken by Dovi on the standings).

So the fight between Rossi, Stoner, Dovisiozo can bring big changes on the championship table. If Dovi finishes 2nd in the next race, then Casey should finish the race on 6th or higher, if Dovi scores a 3th place, Casey will need to finish 10th or higher, if Dovi finishes the race on the 4th, Stoner should finish 13th at least, and finally if Dovi finishes on the 5th place, then Stoner should finish on the 15th place at least. Any other result by Dovi wont do him any good.

The fight for the 6th place of the championship is between Spies and Hayden.

Hayden and Spies have both 163 points, and it looks like Nikky will finish the year in front of Ben. If Ben starts the race, then whichever finishes in front of the other will be the 6th of the championship.

Simochelli and De Puniet are very close and they will fight for the 8th and 9th place of the championship.

Even closer than them, are Melandry and Edwards, who are separated by one point and they have to fight for the 10th place.

and the last fight will be between Barbera and Bautista and it's for the 12th place of the championship. Barbera is 4 points in front atm.

Saw Ben Spies after race today. He was in decent spirits but said 'I screwed up." Looks like he'll need surgery on left foot in winter

good for him....plus he is getting too big for the 125cc lump to pull his ... around the tracks. He would get beat by those smaller riders more next year so he needed a bigger bike. Just wonder how he will like a 4 stroke??

lol £££££ 130 crashes took place in Estoril this weekend.

Rossi was fastest with the track still wet here and there, it looked like one of his typical wins; but the situation reversed quickly as the track dried up -- then Lorenzo took over. Surely Vale wasn't pleased, but it was evident he didn't have any ammos to reply to Lorenzo's attack.

Nice race in the first laps, and then again in the last laps for third place.

Lorenzo was heating up his tires before he smoked the field, nothing more, nothing less

Great.

Lorenzo declared after the race: "I got a great start and was in the lead but eventually Valentino overtook me and then off he went. He had a better pace than me then and I couldn't go with him. As the track got drier I found my pace improving and then step-by-step I closed the gap and was able to get past him."

Don't worry about the Hillbilly.....!

He's just being him.

Stoner...............again

Great race for third, not too much etiquette shown their by the Italians, and not too much debate yet either? Actually many of those passes were some of the best all season. Rossi and Jorge looked like a technical exercise and once again Jorge has proven his amazing speed on the harder tyre, hopefully it will be a little warmer in Valencia and we might see a battle for the lead. Man on the moon is getting old though, time to get creative George!

Would like to know how many go fast bits Simoncelli has got recently! He is looking really good.

OT Anyone watch BBCHD

Seen a few bits that say it was very good in HD Today hope it can continue

i just get a feeling this season not being the best for on track action and the BBC Having to hold there licence fee for the nxt 6yrs will scupper any HD Full time coverage

I had it in my mind and had kept it for later, any way i'll add Edward's move on Simoch to your "race etiquette" catagory. that was a nice racing between them all.

and we saw another battle for another 3th place.(unlike for some of us ps fans, for motogp rider's a 3th place is still worthy)

Injured Spies aims to race in Spain

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/87860

"I've hurt my left ankle again and it's pretty painful right now," said the Tech 3 Yamaha rider.

"I'll have some more scans in Spain but my intention is to go to Valencia and race and hopefully do the test too. We'll have to wait and see but that's my plan right now."

Spies had qualified fifth despite having not raced at Estoril before. He said cold tyres had been the key factor in the crash.

"I knew the race was going to be tough because I had never turned a lap in the dry on this track," said Spies.

"The first sighting lap was fine and on the second I just made a mistake at Turn 4.

"[Hiroshi] Aoyama and [Loris] Capirossi were in front of me and they nearly did the same thing. I just didn't have the left side of the tyre heated up enough and it spat me off.

"I'm frustrated because I'm sure even in the dry I could have had a fairly good race."

Tech 3 team boss Herve Poncharal said Spies had done an excellent job prior to the accident, and backed his bid to return at Valencia.

"I was standing on the grid when race direction told me that Ben had crashed at Turn 4 and I feel really sorry for him because all weekend he's done an incredible job," said Poncharal.

"He'd never seen this track and in atrocious conditions he was always one of the fastest on track. When you look at the race it is not impossible to imagine Ben being capable of fighting for the podium again.

"We hope he'll be fine for Valencia and I know already that he wants to race."
