Is english your first language? If someone says that Lorenzo is currently better than Rossi they are speaking in the present tense. This does not mean they have forgotton about Rossi's previous achievements, it just means they are talking about the current state of play. Similarly, Stoner was better than Rossi in 2007 (note past tense).

I don't know if you have understood Povol's opinion properley (i suspect not), but you could have just asked him to clarify his statement. Lorenzo is better than Rossi. Pretty simple statement. If Povol is talking currently about the most recent race he is correct, if he is talking about currently in the context of this season he is correct. If he is talking currently in reference to the time they have shared in the motogp class he would have a hard time convincing people. If he is talking currently to include both riders entire active careers he is probably insane. You obviously don't want to give him the benefit of any doubt but you could at least be reasonable and realize that the context of that statement is more than likely to be an appropriate one, even though you may not like hearing it.

I'm ok with povol saying Lorenzo was better than Rossi this year. I don't agree that povol wasn't implying or saying more than that. In which case all I was saying was that the battle is only at the end of round 3.

Its not the first time we read comments from Povol, so he does not have any benefit of a doubt. This guy is top Rossi hater. If Rossi is beaten by JLo then JLo is the best rider of all times. If Rossi is beating JLo, then he is in breach of contract with Yamaha. This guy Pov is a total loon, nomatter what Rossi will or will not do, Pov will dig somthing up to throw dirt at Rossi.

At what point do you think that Povol would ever concede that Rossi is better than anyone??? He has openly admitted he's a Rossi hater stemming from 2006, when anyone beats Rossi anywhere they are instantly better and will be forever in his mind, because this is what he wants to believe, Simple-this is why he is mostly berryfied here
