Thought I would start an outdoor season thread, I did affix the spoiler tag.

Read on Cyclenews where Chad Reed will race the series, but no James "Bubba" Stewart. Seems Bubba will take a break and hit the occasional outdoor race but not the whole series.

As a lot of you are aware, I'm picking Villopoto to be the man to beat this year if he stays healthy. In the 250 series I can't decide, but I think Pourcel/Stroupe/Dungey will be the guys to watch.

Allright!
I'm psyched for the outdoors. A little dissapointed that Stewart's not racing but that should make things better for Villopoto. I'd obviously like to see the two go head to head but Villo's still
got some time to learn the 450.
What if Villopoto does become good enough to challenge Stewart in the future. Could Stewart be throwing away his shot at an easier road to the title this year? If he wants to become the GOAT
then now is the time to pad his resume.
Is Dungey and Lawrence running the 450's as well?

I just checked the schedule and the 450 race will be on Speed at 9pm EST
Saturday night
I don't know when they are going to show the lites

I have an extra ticket for Glen Helen. Its 25 minutes from my house but can't go. My ....... (soon not to be my) friend decided to get married same day as MX opener.

ashame stewart is not running the whole season but at least that'll make it more interesting & less predictable. i would love to see villapoto beat reed. i think it'll be between these 2 for the most part.
dungey will be running the lites class again not sure about tool boy. he has a suspension to get thru first.

Yeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!!!
Great race is you're a Villopoto fan.
The last 2 years I've been enjoying MX and SX more than road racing.
The AMA is pretty much dead and MotoGP has become a series for
European 250 riders riding uninspiring bikes. This is racing where the bikes
can still rip your arms out of your sockets.

Glen Helen is such a great track to watch. I remember as a little kid watching
MX on Wide World of Sports and seeing the those huge hills and realizing that
you have to be pretty bad ... to ride there.

Did anyone catch Alessi's comments on the podium without cracking up?
He's taken the Chad Reed approach to this season. Don't ride your fastest and
hope Villopoto crashes a lot because consistency will win a title.
Has he already thrown in the towel on beating Villopoto head to head.
Villopoto is a lot like Stewart where he's sometimes too fast and prone to
crashing. Alessi knows this so his approach is to get the holeshot and get way
ahead, (like he did today) and hope Villo crashes trying to make his way through
the field.
As much as I like watching the Villopoto/Rossi/Stewart water through a siv trick,
it would be cool to see Villo start getting holeshots so that he would utterly devestate
Alessi's morale.

I didn't see Dungey out there but I did see "Tool boy" in the lineup.
I didn't pay attention to how he did but I'm pretty sure it was out of the top 10.
What an enigma that kid is. Runs 2nd at Daytona on a 450 and then dissapears.

he had a 17 second lead at 1 point only to be blown away by poto! brilliant!

MX is for men in 19 year old bodies.

There is no other motorsport where you need so much talent, strength, stamina, and balls on the planet!

Chad Reed sucks.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jumkie @ May 27 2009, 07:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Chad Reed sucks.
.... you're right but what should I do?
Villopoto's out for the season and I gotta root for someone to beat Alessi and he's
probabaly the only one that can.

.... .... .... .... .... ...., I don't know if I can do this but here I go

Chad Reed Rules!
Go Chad Reed!

Did you see the Amazon chick asking Villopoto who he's going to root for now that he's
out.
With a great big beaming smile he said " yeah Chad Reed"

Now you suck, just like Chad Reed.

Sucks to hear about Villopoto. But now I don't like him either. How can anybody root for a person who has no heart or character?

Go Alessi. & Go Grant.

I'm not worried about Chad anyway, he's not man enough to run MX and win. He only likes smooth tracks in SX, and there he's second best. In MX he can't bee what were armatures just a few years ago.

Johnny, go watch that Mike Tyson Reed moment again. That should clear your mind.

CHAD REED SUCKS!!!

villapoto out for the season....... that just sucks!
<
since i dislike reed as much as alessi i'll root for anyone that can beat these 2.

That would be great for some wildcard to suddenly step up and beat both of them.
What if it's J. Law. LOL
We would then have a motorcross axis of evil

Congrats to Alessi. (Even though I wasn't keen on his finger flick to the lapper, who didn't hav goggles on and was actually just tying to get out of his way as best he could).

Either way I have respect for Alessi. After coming back from that terrible injury last year and lead the outdoor series is commendable.

Chad Reed again showed what a sissy he is. MX is a man's sport. ...... thought that with Bubba out he could bag another gift title in his absence. Haha, even the kids are killing him.

Go Alessi and Short.

Well after finally getting to watch the action from this past weekend, I think I'm going to watch the 250 class with more interest this year, lots of talent there. I really like that kid Warton, I think he could make some noise this year.
In the 450's I would say it's now Alessi's title to loose. I just have a hard time rooting for him, like Jumkie said, he's flipping a lapper off as he passes, and the guy is just trying to get out of the way, I've always thought he was a brat.

.... ....!

CHAD REED HAS THE BEST LUCK IN THE WORLD! ANOTHER GIFT TITLE!!!

GET HIM ANDREW SHORT or JOSH GRANT! Somebody please step up, lord I hope Chad doesn't get this.

Come on Bubba, don't let this happen, get in the game!

No Bubba, No Villapoto, no Alessi. MX is done.

Well I guess I'll revive my thread. Have to say I've been disappointed in the 450 class, but Reed was the class of the field after the top contenders took themselves out with injuries.
250 class has been more fun to watch, Pourcel is looking like the champion at the moment, but I think Dungy will give him a good go before its all over with.
Alright Jumkie....lets hear it, I know of your disdain for Reed, who do you think would have won it if everyone would have stayed healthy in the 450 class, I'm gonna stick with my original prediction of Villopoto. Looks like my orignal 250 prediction was 2 out of 3 with Pourcel and Dungy.
