Stoner was never as dominant as Lorenzo is in 250, so why do you think that Lorenzo won't be able to beat Stoner? It's crazy to think that none of the other riders won't have a chance to win the championship. After all there's several world champions on the grid. Besides, Pedrosa has already beaten Stoner in 250cc.

You have made me remember something I've wondered about for some time .... why don't Aussie's know how to ride 125's and 250"s but do perform in MotoGP ??.

I felt it was wierd Ant West was on 250's
<
and indeed Stoner on 125's. Have any Aussie's performed well in these classes? Same thing happened to Michael Byrne in US Supercross ... he was a 250 and open class rider here and they stuck him on a 125 in the US ... nearly killed him in my book. Got back on a 250/450 and he performed well again.

Your Stoner devotion is almost scary. I hope you don't commit suicide or something when Stoner crash out of a race or doesn't finish on the podium.

Freddie Flintstone... yabadabadooo!!!...you mean to tell me that you predict that Lorenzo is going to beat Stoner, in the overall final 2008 standings...and Fred...Lorenzo raced against Stoner and Pedrosa and wasn’t at the top as he been in the last 2 years...do you remember Pedrosa came first and Stoner came second...where was Lorenzo???....well I will tell you where Mr Lorenzo was in the 2005 standings 5th and btw its strange that 4 out of the 10 are in motoGP...
1. PEDROSA, Dani
2. STONER, Casey
3. DOVIZIOSO, Andrea
4. AOYAMA, Hiroshi
5. LORENZO, Jorge
6. PORTO, Sebastian
7. DE ANGELIS, Alex
8. DE PUNIET, Randy
9. BARBERA, Hector
10.GUINTOLI, Sylvain

Since Pedrosa and Stoner came into motoGP that is when Lorenzo started doing well because if Stoner and Pedrosa would have stayed in the 250 class Lorenzo would have done nothing!!! How can you make such a comparison??? What the hell has the 250’s got to do with 2008 and motoGP??? The 250 have not been a dominant class in as far as riders coming into or creating 500 or motoGP champions with the exception of Valentino Rossi!!! And Rossi was an extraordinary, exceptional rider!!!

I think garry mccoy won races in the 125s but oddly as you say was more successful in the premier class.

Yes you can say that Stoner and Pedrosa were in the 250's but look what Pedrosa has done in motoGP in comparison to Stoner!!! and when Stoner was in the 250's he was there for only one year and with a pretty inferior bike in comparison to Pedrosa’s Honda!!!

only a true Pisshead would believe he is going to ride till he is 85 and still be at the top of MotoGP. I believe we have already seen the best years of Rossi ( and he was excellent!! ) ... and stats. seem to be showing that he is on the decline .... so yes, as dificult as it is for you to accept ... Rossi gets 5th.

I based it on the performances since Donnington ( numerical ) but took into account any rider/Manuf. changes where necessary, and "taken out" type crashes ( + ), or self crashes (-) etc. to shift a numerical placing by no more than one place .......... I did not base it on on words, hyperbole, voodoo, religious furvour, fanatacism, planned or apparent ignorance, etc. etc. etc. ( as would be the domain of a Pisshead or pisstaker )

Hey, everybody knows that Vale's has been the class act of MotoGP for a VERY long time, so who else would you bother comparing with?? Or for that matter be worried about trying to beat??
<

Pity that there's not a motorcycling equivalent of the "Seniors tour" like there is in many other sports ( tennis etc )... even if it was on production bikes!

How awesome would it be to have the legends together again, both old and new?

my final comment on this subject lol

stoner - talent..... he is very talented and an awesome rider but
what happend last year ????? exactly, he was riding with a pakage that wasnt working for him so thats why he wasnt were he is this year, its all about the pakage and rider also rider communication to engineers, all the stoner fans snaping at rossi fans with no credibility... like ignoring that stoner is doing better this year because he has a better pakage, rubber and bike i mean if this isnt the case why could he get no grip last year and kept sliding off the bike in the corners???, it gets to me because your failing to recognise rossi cant put up a fight because this year his PAKAGE isnt up to the job and hes not happy with it. similar to caseys situation last year but of course you wont agree to that .....
im a rossi fan but wont hesistate to give stoner his credit and say deserves to be champion this year 100% but lets not forget its about a whole team not just the rider. ducati put stoner where he is and stoner put ducati were they are but done as a team, without one or the other then this situation maybe be totally different.i think stoner has found his home at ducati on the desmo, hes kinda lucky to have a pakage he is happy with and one that really workes for him almost straight out the garage.

i hope no one takes offense to this, this isnt a rossi vs stoner post its just what i think, dont get the wrong idea and think im saying stoner doesnt deserve to be where he is and dont think im trying to say casey doesnt have a talent. alot of riders would be in there oils to just have a machine that totally rocks for them, and before you start about capirossi using the same bike, well maybe its hard to get a good setup for HIMSELF like nicky and pedrosa too, but to be honest capirosi looks to small for the desmo to me it looks like he cant turn it properly???.

i think the most progress being made at this time are with suzuki and there top riders finding workable setups and now they are closing in on the game. of course its the rider that gets the bike around the track but a rider cant use his abillities/skill as he would if his bike wasnt able to let him do so. it to hard for me to type exactly what i mean but i hope u get the idea.

Why should anyone take offense?? What you've stated makes sense to me... regardless of which side of the fence you come down on. You state many good points that I personally agree with.

I honestly believe though that the majority of Stoner fans are quite happy to accept that the "the package" is very much working for him. The point that is often being made is that he is making it work better than all the other riders with the "same" package.

With Rossi, it's plain for anyone to see that yes, he has been having problems with "the package" at his disposal, although he has also been making it work better than all the other riders with the "same" package as him & on occasion in 2007 even better than Stoner's package (although you might need Uccio & Casey's missus to really compare those particular items)!

The fact that Stoner's package has proven to be untimately superior to Rossi's package (this year) is simply that, a fact... reflected in the championship standings. There's no rhetoric in that statement... that's just where we are.

Next year might be completely different... who knows??
<

Ducati will be even better in 2008. Stoner will win again, Melandri will win about as many races as Rossi has this season. Hayden and Pedrosa will be slugging it out in the top 5 because Honda will be the second best bike. Honda will fail to win many races b/c Michelin won't improve enough.

Yamaha will be abysmal---just plain awful. Lorenzo and JT will be quite unhappy and looking for a new team.

Suzu will go back to the midpack b/c all the Hondas will run well again.

Hopkins and Kawi will have the same season he's having on Suzuki in 2007, but it won't be good enough for the top 5. Westy will not produce like CV has.

The end.
