Way early I realize, but I am bored in class. Who wins in 08?

Will we see continued Stoner dominance, a resurgent Rossi or Hayden even? One of the newcomers? Melandri?

<

Dani Pedrosa for Champion!
Based on 0 facts and pure faith!
<

One has to wonder with all of the posturing he's done during contract negotiations if Honda will start him off with top notch equipment?
I'm not one for making predictions, I mean who would have picked Stoner last year?

Kind of an ignorant comment but its from a Aussie. If it was a level playing field would you bet against a 7 time world champion vs a lucky guy who benefited from a poor season from Honda + Yamaha.

When are you going to acknowledge that Casey is only a good rider as good as any young motivated rider would be on a package that is working without many competitors.

No Andrew you are wrong.
Plenty of people have been given the chance on championship capable machinery in the past, yet very, very few of them have the gumption to produce results.
I still can't believe that some people are barking on about it not being a level playing field.
PIG'S FU#$@NG ARSE!!!!
Michelin had it all their way for umpteen years and no one ever bitched.
Did Michelin not have a copy of the regulations at the beginning of testing for this season?
Of course they did, henceforth Moto Gp by default is, was and always will be a level playing field.
The fact that Honda and Yamaha are having a pretty ordinary season is not a product of Casey Stoner. He just happened to have the drive, talent and self assuredness to grab the donkey by the bollocks and ride the sucker. Now come on people let's end this once and for all.
No longer are these reasons valid for Casey winning in my book:
1. The Ducati is faster than anything else.
2. Honda and Yamaha are useless.
3. Michelin are useless.
4. Bridgestone are brilliant.

All of these things have played a part in Casey being where he is right now, however, the overiding and undeniable reason for his success is his talent, commitment and maturity.
END RANT!!!!!!!!!

+1!!!!!!!

Casey will be this year's champion, and not ''just'' cause Rossi and his bike aren't performing at their maximum, it's cause Casey is just doing an incredible job. He's been doing a fantastic job all season, and if some Rossi fans dont want to acknowledge that, it's their problem, but to me it's obvious that Casey is one hell of a talent, and he deserves to win the title this season, simply, cause he has been the best!!

Well me and my dad are Rossi fans and I think that the season would have been differant if the FIAT Yamaha bikes would have been up to the best. But you have to hand it to Stoner. He has been exceptional and has alll season looked like a champion...and the thing that impresses me is that he is only 21.

Stoner has been the best by far all season and to be honest you can't put it past him winning next season, and the season after that and the season after that. He was pure class.

If anyone is going to challenge Stoner it will be either Melandri or Pedrosa. Two very good riders, Lorenzo could but he will be another Max Biaggi and he isen't ready for MotoGP yet. Rossi should come back to his best if he gets his head sorted and stay focused and I think if Antony West gets on a decent
bike he will be a contender,

Well done Casey, a well deserved top spot.

I hope Jorge wont be another Max Biaggi, my feeling says he wont, but I could be wrong of course! I think next year's fight will again be between Casey, Rossi, and Dani too. I'm not sure what to expect about Jorge in his 1st moto season, wish him the best of course!

there is a problem with your logic.

just because bstone and michelin swapped places doesn't mean that things are even. in fact, it means the exact opposite; a discrepancy remains, only the names have changed.

My reply to the suject title.

1. Rossi 9. Vemulan
2. Melandri 10. De pun
3. Lorenzo 11. Hopkins
4. Pedrosa 12. De pun
5. Stoner 13. Edwards
6. Hayden
7. Dovi
8. Toseland

I am a Rossi fan, but to discount Stoner's amazing riding this year, and his overall skill, is weak.

Sure, all GP riders are the best of the best in skill terms, but what impresses is Stoner's cool and calmness. Having Rossi breathe down your neck (even if it was actually only in a few races) and come out on top, is a noteworthy accomplishment.

That said, my predictions:

1. Rossi
2. Stoner
3. Hayden
4. Melandri
5. CV
6. Pedrosa
7. Hopkins

The rest, who knows...

Di-on...so you mean to tell me that Stoner will be 5th in 2008???...you’re kidding me!!! Lorenzo 3rd???
<
<
<
...what a joke of a list!!!...listen here, Stoners dominance in 2007 will go onto 2008 and he will smash more track records and ride races at track and poll records more often...now tell me? How many riders in the last decade have achieved such dominance as Stoner has this year? Not Many!!!...

Lorenzo 3rd!!! ‘What a Joke”!!!

An4rew,

I'm sorry... I feel like I'm picking on you a bit lately! It's nothing personal...

But when you say things like "Kind of an ignorant comment but its from a Aussie", how on earth do you think people are going to react??
<

If you're doing it in jest, then fair enough... but add a couple of smilies to express that!
<
<

But if you're adding it just to be spiteful, then remember that can go both ways & we can start dragging out all the anti-rossi rhetoric that's been filed away... It's all crap of course, but so is stating things like "vs a lucky guy who benefited from a poor season from Honda + Yamaha."

If you honestly believe that, then every World Champion in the history of GP racing must by definition fall into the same category!
<

Stoner,Melandri Marlboro Ducati will be a strong team.
Lorenzo i think will win races.
JT should get some podiums, definitely top 10
Hopper/Kawka maybe a win, few podiums??
Pedrosa some wins
Capirex i think will more competitive on the suzuki.
Rossi?? Before all insults start flying my (IM A ROSSI FAN)
<
winning races but not the championship..
